Advantages/Disadvantages (Drag Races)
When I go to the track, I launch at 3500 RPM and experience almost no wheel hop... but I ran a 14.997 best time, and 15.2xx average time. A handful of questions for you Drag gurus.
1. What are the advantages of launching at 5500? 2. Why does launching at 3500 Produce slower (average) times than launching at 5500? I don't see how more rpms from a stand still will affect the launch for the better... 3. Assuming I feather the clutch on the 5500 rpm, how much time can I shave off? BUT IF you are newb like i was and dont know what to do with the clutch, this happens, and this doesnt help That much. btw an average stock Si runs 16.2 at this track, and no this is not a bs excuse to cover up my newbness..lol
YouTube - LACR Track day at about 2:55 section, i really abuse my clutch.... 5k launch didnt do much, at least for me Last edited by iqbbang; 01-27-2008 at 11:31 PM. |
