from what we have seen and read only 1 8thgen has hit 11s and it was a 11.9 so thats just making it. im pretty sure i was reading that 1 or 2 8th's hit high 12s and i have hit high 12s on a gtech pro but at the track i only went 13.1. as soon as the season opens back up i know ill be another in the 12s at the track. ive been tweeking a few things and now i have a custom-bottom-throttlebody-intake manifold with a bigger plenum that is alot better all over on the dyno, a different suspension setup for drag and not dd, lightening up the car some more by cutting out the rear spare tire hole and welding sheet metal over it (about 50-70 pounds),and got some tranny work done to(baby shifts like butter). im looking for mid to even low 12s when the season comes back around.

well that is if i keep the motor and not sell it a get a monster turbo setup(which im leaning toward more and more)

Yeah bro. I know Ron pays for everything done to the car... its his shop, his kit, his car... I was just getting at everyday Tom, Dick, and Harry's who bought a FI kit and don't own a shop and pour crazy amounts of loot into their cars. When I got my install done at ajp the shop car had a cover over it, although Ron was about to leave the country so maybe thats why. It was running though and everything but I didn't think it was Ron's DD. Anyway this whole thread was just pointing to "regular" 8thgenr's.

Oh and dispite the occasional, sometimes frequent hateraide, if you do hit the 11's please post the slips... We can start our own "Top 10 Fastest 8th's" on here

And for the record... Ron is in his own class Crazy BoOst junkiezzzz

Must be nice to only need 250 hp to pull 1900 lbs around.

I ran 11.8 @118 in the 1/4 on real everyday use street tires(not the DOT drag type)and full exhaust. At the time it was my daily driver. Oh shoot. But it wasn't my Si. Sorry.

Traction may be an issue, but driver experience will play a huge role in that as well.

I don't think that you will be daily driving the car at that point man. If that is your honest goal... you picked the wrong platform to start with.

Why do you say that? Because the car will have 500whp+? That why one has a boost controller. This may not be a true DD since so much money is going into it but it won't stop me from driving it on the street several times a week. Traction is an issue but only at the track when the boost is turned up and working on solutions to help with traction.

No I hear ya man, I'm not saying that it can't be done, but I know that if I were to dump enough money into a 185whp car to make it 500+whp... I don't think I'd drive it to and from work everyday.

I made the comment of starting w/ a different platform for a 500+whp DD because there are other cars out there that are far more suitable for such task... i.e. used Corvette, Mustang GT, Camero SS... It sounds as if you only want the car for drag racing so starting w/ one of the aforementioned platforms would make more sense... to me anyways..

Good luck with your goal though man, it can be reached!
