So I'm sitting at the light, and you know the rest.

Funniest thing EVER happened to me while I was on my way home from the movies. I pull up to a stop light about a block away from home, and this guy who judging by his clothes and car, must have been transported from the mid-1980's through some act of god, pulls up next to me. I see a Mercedez convertible that I can't quite discern, so I look over to see what model it was. Before my eyes reach the badging, I see the guy looking over at me. Before I can turn my head back to look ahead, he revvs his engine. I'm thinking I don't really stand a chance, especially since I've never really street raced before, so I figure I pretend like I didn't see him.

I look foward and focus on the road, all the while I get the feeling he's still looking at me. The turn signal turns green, and the guy to my left(the turn lane) starts to go, the guy on the opposite side goes as well, and to my suprise, the guy in the Mercedez convertible next to me ******* FLOORS IT. The guy opposite of me slams on his brakes, the guy in the Mercedez does the same, and he stops in the middle of the street just shy of hitting the other dude. I burst into laughter, and the guy puts it into reverse. The light turns green before he makes it back behind the pedestrian line, and I go. He stays a steady two cars behind me the whole way until I turn into my neighborhood.

I know, it's not a cool kill story. No on got hurt. I didn't "win"(alot of you think that anyone who street races is a loser, period, and I can't say I disagree too much). I just thought it was pretty cool and I had to share it with someone.

I think you won the intelligence competition if nothing else. Having a fast car is one thing, having the common sense to use it responsibly is something completely different. Congrats on the 'kill'

Even if you hadn't "raced" him, just the fact that he pulled out at a red light due to nervousness or whatever gives you the win. That's just too funny. I'm glad no one got hurt though.

It would have been cool if he pulled up next to you in a Delorean and was bumping the theme song to Miami Vice like in the movie the Wedding Singer.
