^^ In englishtown i had Jeff as my instructor my first couple runs the first time i AUTOX and he taught me alot, and also should me the limits of my car since he knew it so well... i couldn't compare since i've never ran in Warminster... but to me the courses to what i've heard Warminster is supposedly better then Englishtown. I'd have to find out for myself one day...

If you want to run a fantastic lot, try making it down to Fed Ex some time. The A.I. events are easier to get into and much more laid back. I do like Warminster, but I couldn't run every event in a season there. There's only so many slaloms/offsets with a turnaround halfway through that you can do before it starts getting boring. But I do like to run there on occasion and hope to make it out to the Holbert Memorial...we'll see.

DJ, so far I'm 3 for 3 in STX with one more win locking it down for the season. But I'll have to wait another month for that chance. Also, I like the idea of the new T/C Cobalt SS and we should be able to see how it does in DS as a couple of solid competitors are running it this year (Kevin Dietz/fastmike). In STX trim it could be a little rough trying to get the power down, but it would be fun either way.

Anthony, you're in luck. This weekend for the A.I. event they're running the "A" lot. For a preview, check my post of the video from last weekend's WDCR event. Don't know if you've run there, but that lot is an absolute blast! Talk about elevation changes.

Gawd I need to drop down to STX; I'm getting slaughtered in DSP. What's the deal with switching classes; those that mess with your scores (not that I care that much).

Hey DJ, I wanted to apologize if I may have kind of blown you off a bit when you came over. I think you stopped over as JR and I were trying to get things set up on the car. Needless to say, co-driving a car (only my second time ever doings so) makes things a bit hectic and we never really had time to relax. Just wanted to say sorry!

Hellllo. My name is Scott, and I drive a 08 Ex Silver. Completely stock suspension but I plan on doing some upgrades, maybe HFP and a sway bar. I just did the BMW Car control clinic and I had sooo much fun. I plan on dabbling a lil in Auto-X, nothing serious but I would like to get out there and have some fun on the track occasionally. BMW sponsors an event by me at Laguna Seca, and I'd like to ckeck that out! And of course find out where my fellow Civic enthusiasts race at... =) Cheers!

No worries Josh- nice win out there

As for your itch to enter GS, how about you buy my car so i can satisfy my itch to get into STU... I know you want to show them what the underdog can do

As far as next cars go, I'm all over the place. My latest kick is STS2 after driving Ian Baker's STS2 CRX. That was an absolute blast! I'm also going to get a co-drive some time soon in an STS2 Miata. If I like the Miata, I'll probably pick up one of those as they are pretty easy to find with tons of parts available...not to mention less likely to get stolen. I think I've decided that I want to stay in an ST* class and don't want to spend a ton of money. The other option is possibly running the Spec for one more season and saving the money to get something that I really want the following year. But again, it's all over the place.

Edit: I guess it will have to be the CRX Si as that seems to be THE car to have after doing some research. Oh well, back to FWD "if" I run STS2.

BTW, here's video from this past weekend. Has my fastest time in the WRX of 52.625 and fastest run (of only 2 fun runs) of 53.3ss in the Spec V. It was an AWD course with almost nothing but sweepers, but I do seriously think the Spec V still has a legitimate shot. Below is a link to my full writeup on the event along with video if you're interested.

i meant that how i liked how etown was setup, the people seemed more friendlier, and i liked how i got 8 runs instead of just 4. and i know how warminster is bigger so longer runs equals less

Wow, the new fasttrack is a real doozie- the subaru guys are going nuts about it- e46 m3 to STU and rx8 to STX, both on bigger tires than their awd counterparts. Granted, it still has to go to the BoD, but this is all recommended stuff. I think I'm just going to stay where i am until this settles down in the next month or three... no sense into getting into the wrong car again.

Hello, My name is Mat... and I am addicted to autocross. It has been two weeks since my last race and I have already got the jitters. For some video's of my runs this season visit my photobucket page @

BlackHFP - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Right now with the totally stock car I am about 4-5s average behind the Mini Cooper S's in my region. Even though we have the weight to deal with on the Si, it seems as though it is a pretty good platform. My only complaint at the moment is that on aggressive slow turnin the car understeers horribly bad, and I don't think I am going in too hot for the car. We shall see, I will start running the car in GS tire when I get kicked out of novice. I won my first race out in Novice but they told me to stay in till the end of the season. So far this season I have a 1st, 2nd, and a 3rd in three races.

Quick question though: Can I use crash bolts on the 8th gen Si and stay in stock class?

The reason I ask is since the car is not a daily driver and the KDW's seem to have pretty soft sidewalls I think some decent camber will help the car out considerably. What I was thinking was 1/8" toe out and max camber with 1 crash bolt (which I think is like 1 - 1.5 degrees?) up front and 0 toe and max camber in the rear (for the Mugen it is 1.5 degrees I believe.)

Thanks, and I will see you around my fellow addicts!

Only and I mean ONLY if they are the OEM Honda part. Under NO circumstances can the aftermarket (i.e Engalls or Eibach) camber bolts be used legally in Stock as per SCCA rules.

Looks like you could've straightened out that first line a bit; my only observation (and all I could see). What were the average times in the stock sedan/2L classes?

Yeah, no joke. As if a FWD car wasn't already handicapped enough. Don't know many that can take advantage of a 265 tire. Of course with the possible creation of SMF (Street Mod FWD), it is awfully tempting to toss a VQ35 in the Spec V, Maxima final drive ratio, and 275+ r-comps and go play. That would be a frickin' blast!

But with everything currently going on, STS2 is looking like a good place to play, especially considering the top level talent in DC (Ian Baker, Mike Snyder).

Hell, fwd already looks to do reasonably well in SM, what would the difference for the new class be? That said, I'd think that you would be pretty safe in sts2, like you say lots of talent here. Ever give though to AS? John, greg, clyde, etc would certainly make for lively competition.

Are you kidding me???

Look at National level results from around the country over the past 4 years, especially for the National Championships in Kansas and then come back and see if you still feel that way.

If ANY of the big names in $M show up, like Mark Daddio (whose EVO is for sale btw) or Vic Sias in his M3, just pack up and go home. FWD cars in $M is an uphill battle, one that results in a loss. Honestly... Chris Travis is the only regular FWD competitor who does well (Top 5 consistently), but is never a solid threat for a win (National Championship) and knowing him and that car as well as I do, all I can say that for the $30K or so he has invested, that Civic better be fast.

As I said in another thread, I had set my 93 Civic up for that class and the inability of that platform to compete against RWD and AWD cars chased me away permanently... Hence my love of Stock.
