Just corner balanced the car today at Agile Auto. Weight is down to 2,645 and managed to get the cross weight to 49.9%, occasionally blinking on 50.0%.

Can't wait to see how the car handles this Sunday.

Are you Alan Pozner? If so, didn't see you out there. Something come up?

DJ, it was good to see you again! Sorry I didn't have much time to talk. I was trying to figure out the stupid camera and figure out what to change on the car after that first suck arse run.

Conger, you're MIA. What's up?

Ugh, my driving was the suxors yesterday. All four of my runs were within 0.3 seconds. I need to watch the videos tonight, but it seems that while I ran a MUCH cleaner line on my 4th run, I believe that I wasn't nearly aggressive enough. My first three runs weren't that much off, and I ran some poor lines and over-drove in a lot of spots. Definitely two spots on my last run where I should have been faster. I'm thinking I should have been around a half second faster than I was. Ended up with a 59.5xx FWIW.

Here's to hoping I don't f*ck up at Devens too much.

No worries, I know you had some stuff to sort out- what was that all about you looking to buy gas off people there, trying to shave that last few pounds? Either way, 1.6s over everyone else is pretty damn impressive, there are some quick folks in STX. You gonna be at any other events coming up soon (AI/cumberland)?

I'll be at the Devens NT this weekend, the D.C. Pro two weekends after that, and then the rest of the WDCR and A.I. events.

I was asking for gas because during my 2nd run the car kept getting fuel starvation and stalling on me. I wasn't going to make it through two more runs. I was really lucky on that run too in that there was a cone down on course, so I stopped to point it out and got a re-run.

Took my 07 FA5 out auto-xing for the first time Sunday June 1st. It did pretty good considering I was running it on stock everything down to the Michelin All Seasons with who knows what air pressures. I used one of the little 12v compressors and didn't have a tire gauge and the gauge on the compressor was far from accurate. It was a REALLY small turnout so no one else was in my class, but once I got a feel for the car I started dropping time pretty consistently. Here are the results:

CLASSED RESULTS
RAW TIMES

I've been auto-xing for 5-6 years now so this was just my first time with this car. I used to have a 02 EP3 setup for STS. It was a fun car and I raced it for most of those years. Then I bought a 90' Eclipse GSX and ran it in SM for a little while until one day I spun a main rod bearing. The plan is to still race it, but while I'm finishing up the engine build I figured I would try out my new Si.

I was surprised that I was able to induce a bit of off throttle oversteer on the stock suspension. Overall the car did really well and I could definitely tell the LSD was doing its job. In my old EP3 traction really became an issue with the open dif sometimes, like coming out of a corner I would smoke the driver's side tire sometimes (I think it was the driver's side). With the FA5 I didn't get any of that.

If anyone is from the middle GA area I would like to see a few more Si's out there to compare my self to. A black one with black painted stockers came out a few times before but he didn't show this time, and a coupe came out a few times also. Website is www.mgascca.com

Holy crap, 14 people? Glad to see you had a good time with it.

Also congrats to Anthony Crea, a first place in HS in Philly on the 1st and 9th place PAX finish overall in a very tough crowd. Nice work!

Alan, is there any kind of schedule for the cumberland event? Right now things arent looking so good for making it unfortunately, but I still might be able to. However, the website is a little... spartan, and I cant seem to find any info past the general location and day.

18 man, 18!

Its a small region, but we usually have at least double that. Last months event was small too from what I heard. Not sure where all the people went in our region. We just had a "change of management" the last dude that ran the events started acting retarded, he was scaring people off for sure. Showing up late to get everything set-up, extremely unorganized, yelling at newbs for stupid stuff, yelling at veterans for even more stupid stuff. He's gone now and we are ready and getting started on time and finishing much earlier than before.

One good thing about small a small region is we get more runs than most larger regions. Usually 8, sometimes 6, sometimes more than 8. And we start at 11:30 and are done with all runs and trophy presentation by like 3:30-4:00 and thats with a lunch break...hehe.

FWIW DJ, here's a vid of my 4th run. I went WAY too slow into and through the slaloms coming down the hill to the showcase turn. I went too fast a few runs before it and cooked the right hander directly afterwards. Lost time there as well as a few other places. Should have been at least a half second faster, but oh well, it happens.

Out of curiosity, did it seem like you were going into the showcase a bit too fast? I went into it hot a few times, and realized i was getting through a lot faster by taking it slow and getting right on the last cone in the turn rather than going wide and scrubbing speed the whole way. That's what the novice guy was telling us to do at least and I felt it was working. I dont know- I cant see your positioning there a bit, so i could be totally off-base.

I don't think I did the showcase too hot. I was able to brake and get the speed I wanted through it without pushing out. Whether or not I took the best line through there is another story.

Gotcha. Not being able to see much to the sides of the car must have made it look like it was pushing out.

Hey guys and gals! I was going to ask for a little advice, for I am autocrossing on Sunday for the second time in my Si sedan. Bone stock with stock Michelin tires. I was going to ask about tire pressures and were I should start. My last experience was good, I won GS but with only 3 entries. Sunday will be a little different. I see that a Mini has pre-registered with two drivers and can only guess that they are serious (sponsored by Amsoil). Any way, give me some advice.
