But while we're playing the "what if I didn't hit that cone game", if Shenefield had actually run in STX instead of SM in the Civic AND hadn't hit that cone on his 3rd run, he would've taken first in PAX...but only by a VERY slim 0.152 seconds over you in a solid 2nd. Once again, a lot of ifs. But I know how fast Chris is and you're right there.

You guys making it to Topeka this year?
Greg, piknockout... Thanks for the kind words.

Yes, Shenefield is the man. He is not only amazingly fast but he is a great human being as well. By comaprison, Mark Daddio is fast, but he assumes the human form only. He is otherworldly (he's actually very personable).

As for Kansas. I'll never make it there. I'm a teacher, and with luck, by September I'll be a certified Principal in the State of NJ thereby making September a bad month for me as a teacher. It'll only get worse if I land a Principal's job.

Hell, due to my divorce, I won't be attending any Tours or Pro's this season. But this is a good way to start looking forward to 2009! I think F1 teams try to rationalize things this way :)

Agreed 100%, Chris is definitely a great guy. It's definitely great being in this part of the country with so many top level drivers to learn from and compare yourself too...especially when they're more than willing to help teach you a little bit.

Anthony, sucks about Topeka as it looks like you could make a strong showing out there. Not to mention not making the tours/pros. But yes, there's always next year...something I tell myself at the end of each summer.

Good luck on the principality and the divorce (I think?). Better times await.

Well, initially looks like another frickin' rain day at Fed Ex this weekend. What is it with the frickin' weather lately? It's really starting to piss me off.

Also signed up for Devens today. June is going to be a BUSY month with D.C. Event #3 on June 1st, Devens the following weekend, and then the D.C. Pro two weeks after that. I just hope some of those events are actually dry for a change.

Awesome isn't it?

Funny how at the practice event Brian mentioned that prior to this season they had only had like two rain events in years. Not to mention climatologists called for a very dry spring.

I think it has rained at least some at every single event this season.

I am debating whether or not I want to go to the school on the 25th. Monies are kinda tight. I think I may have to pass.

Well, as long as you go to the rest of the D.C. season and run the A.I. season as well, you'll get plenty of seat time. I'm so hoping this Sunday for some reason doesn't rain, this is getting really old.

Yeah, pretty much. Thunder showers scheduled for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday...

I have a girl who wants to come with me and it would be a bore if it rained the whole time.

Not sure if I am going to do the entire AI season, but definitely am interested in running the last two events as a way to extend the season out a bit. Each event devastates my Saturday nights.

That's an AI event though right? I most likely will not make most of those.

If the weather Sunday isn't looking like it is going to be awful on Saturday night's report I should be there with a friend.

I'll be there regardless, rain or shine.

Okay, because I'm too lazy to search I'm going to ask what's probably an easy question. Wifey has a 2008 EX-L Coupe. She hates the handling, so I'm going to get her a more aggressive alignment. But in addition I was thinking of trying to pick up an Si suspension/FSB as well since that would be a little more aggressive but still comfortable. My question is, any issues putting the Si suspension on an EX-L? I assume not, but just checking.

Hardware wise, I think it is a direct fit.

Though the Si is more front heavy than the R18's so that might have issues?

I should mention though that Honda makes an HFP suspension just for Non-Si's so if she wants a really sporty ride that just might be the ticket. Plus it is probably easier to order. Admittedly I don't know how much used Si suspensions go for or how easy they are to find. Might make me weary that the struts might have been used with lowering springs at one point though.

As far as where to buy I'd recommend College Hills Honda.

The idea behind a used Si suspension was the assumption I could probably get one for next to nothing from someone installing coilovers or something. What good is stock suspension to them?

You strive to make fun of all my posts don't you?

I was just saying I have no idea how hard they are to come by. Used Si suspension being cheap goes without saying.

Just make sure the owner hasn't used lowering springs on them ever.

I just checked the weight distribution for the non Si vs the Si and it looks like the difference surprisingly small. If you find a set go for it.

No not at all, just trying to explain myself. I promise.

But yes, definitely will research to make sure that they have not had lowering springs on them. Hopefully I can find some on the cheap. We'll see though.

Well, my first two runs Sunday weren't very good. I definitely DNF'ed the first time. The second time I honestly don't think I went off course but supposedly I did. Not a biggie though since that run sucked too. Third run was not good and I hit a cone. Last run I was able to at least get a decent time in.

Lesson that day was don't be a stupid boy and keep your eyes down the course. Way too many times I was nearly overshooting the corners simply because I wasn't looking far enough ahead and anticipating the course I would have to take.

I was not happy with how I did overall but I put at least a decent time down and managed to walk away with a valuable lesson so I guess overall it wasn't too bad. I expect to do better next time.

Thanks to pi for giving me what advice he could during our ridiculously short breaks between runs. EvilRobot, it was good to see you out there again. Oh and congrats to Pi for absolutely devastating STX with more than a full second lead over the next guy in second place.

Oh and wouldn't you believe someone at the event harassed me hardcore about my beautiful numbers?

You mean Falken tires with the CR's?

If they are RT615's that should definitely help your times.

What class are you in? Just make sure your wheel and tire sizes don't bump you out of your class, especially if you are running stock.

Thanks Conger! I wish I could have spoken with you more during the runs, but holy crap were those short breaks! I had enough time to watch the video of my run, check air pressures, talk to others for a minute, and then it was time to run again!

IIRC, this was you first true competition event. And it's been a little while since you last ran, so some of those lessons can be forgotten. After you do it for a few years, many of those little things become second nature...sometimes...kind of...well you get the idea. Overall you placed well, getting beat by those that have been doing this for a while in cars that are much better prepped than yours. In time you'll be right there, and you're on the right track at the moment, especially this early in your autocross "career".

BTW, for my full report on the event, with video, I started a new thread in this autocross section.
