Raced a tC

Does anyone know exactly what type of challege these cars are to the Si? I beat him by 2 or 3 cars in a 1/4 give or take. (before flaming we are on an open road without traffic, buildings, people, and the cows were miles away. :)) Anyway, I've only been driving my car for a week and its my first standard. I thought the tC was supposed to be pretty quick, maybe he just cant drive? Any thoughts?

tC's are slow stock. They still feel slow with the optional S/C. Slow and heavy. And they're not very good handlers stock. Once you take a trip to the TRD department, they're ok, but they're alright. I almost bought one before the Si. And no, I'm not flaming, just stating the truth. I'm sure the tC boyzzzz are hating on our Civic, not realizing, if it weren't for the Civic/Si, there'd be no tC. This whole Toyota vs. Honda thing has been going on for quite some time, but the Civic has gone to depths the Corolla has consistently failed to go since they decided not to keep it RWD.

At least the tC has a usable backseat, unlike the Civic. And it's a real hatchback.

You can't use the backseat in the Civic coupe for anything other than storage. No human would ever want to sit there for anything longer than a two minute ride to the store. The tC however actually has a backseat you can sit in and be comfortable, with decent headroom. And that moonroof ain't half bad either.

The two cars arent even in the same league. Stock, they have 160hp and 163lb ft of tq. I have no idea where you got the idea that they were supposed to be quick. However, they are pretty potent when a turbo is added in the mix.

Maybe I heard they were quick from some of my buddies I hang out with. But their triptronic Mazda 3 and n/a 5th gen civic aren't the quickiest.

A tc probably would be quick to them haha. In my opinion, a quick car is low 14's or better.

i just made a 3 hour trip to orlando from the south florida and i had 2 people in the back of average height 5'10 and the guy in the front was 5'11 he said...well he's same hight as me so he must be that...and everyone was comfortable..the back seat is very roomy...
people complained to me when i was going from my 03 accord sedan v6 to the coupe si and now they are like wow i could never imagine a 2 door with this much trunk space and rear seat space. so i don't agree with u for the first time...wow.

The people that think that the coupe rear seats are comfy, definately have not been in the rear of the tc... If you are comfy in the coupe, then you'll feel like you are in a family room in the tc.. Reclineable rear seats just make it even more comfy and great to fall asleep in...

And btw, racing a tc is just a waste of gas. Unless they are on spray, ofcourse, and then they'll take you by just 1-2 cars...(60shot). Trust me I know
