There are several reasons why posts and threads based on street racing are not tolerated, one of them being very simple.. It's stupid.

I understand that it's fun to haul ass and everything, but you should probably consider a couple of things like:

1) so you're a good driver (or so you believe), awesome. How good is the kid driving the ricer that just revved at you? How about the lady in traffic up ahead that's lost and trying to get directions on the cell phone? How about most other people in general? It's awesome that you believe in yourself and all, but I would be worried about all the other people out there that can't drive for crap.

2) Have you ever thought about the fact that the human body was never meant to go 120+mph? There's a reason why people can't run that fast cool guy, you're made of flesh and bone, not kevlar and steel. If you or the guy next to you screws up there's a good chance that you'll both be killed.

I think the reason he posted the pics was to show you what happens when you loose control of the vehicle when you street race.

It shows an 8thgen civic involved in a high speed crash due to wreckless driving. Would you like to be in that car?
Its the point... you are not invincible , don't be stupid

i personally dont understand why who ever is in charge of this forum cares if people talk about their street racing stories, Everyone knows its illegal but yet it will never stop. Theres nothing an internet forum can do about it.

I dunno i guess it where ive spent most of my life on Various motorcycle forums where no one gives a damn if you post a street kill story. Yes there is the same "street racing is bad" posts, but at least people can talk about their experience with out getting banned or having their thread deleted.

Personally i like reading peoples kill stories. It makes the forum more fun.

and yes i totally agree that street racing kills inocent people.

Well that's not cool at all. You can't just post a picture of something that has nothing to do with the subject and act like it should mean something.

Yes, crashing is a part of driving. This does not mean that it is always a part of street racing. Please stop using your logic like that. Yes, street racing is bad, not gonna argue. Just arguing about how you're presenting your case.

You're saying it like this: Jesus was a man. Jesus was immortal. I am a man. Therefore, I am immortal. FALSE.

When you should be saying: Street racing can 'cause crashes. Then post pictures of stree race-related crashes and not toll-booth chip related crashes.

im not debating anything, im just stating my personal feelings. I think members of a free message board should be able to talk freely about issues that are entertaing as well as informative.

Isnt it obvious that in a virtual world most users dont give a damn about forum rules. Not that i dont.

There is a difference. All of the people involved in a closed course racing event understand that there will be cars traveling at excessive speeds and a crash may occur. The cars involved in most of those races are built for those events and have safety devices not found in most street driven vehicles.

This forum has it's own set of rules that as members we should follow. I for one think that any forum that condones such a dangerous activity is pretty immature. It's almost like starting a thread about how driving drunk is cool too. Besides that, street racing doesn't count. If you want to prove to some one you are faster than them take it to a local drag strip and get the paper to prove it and to prove how fast your car is. Racing a car on the highway isn't racing, it's passing and frankly it doesn't count, so if you post about how you beat someone on the highway you're probably an idiot.

hmmm...cause reading a sticky is too time consuming, and members cannot see the highlighted thread.

I wanted to clarify something really quick. As posted earlier, this is one of the forums rules:
Quote:
17. Street racing related threads are not permitted and will be deleted on sight. No questions asked. 8thcivic.com does not tolerate nor condone illicit activities.
The site rules can be found at this link just in case anyone is curious. Upon signing up as a new member here you are given the option to agree or not to agree with the forums rules, obviously you chose "I agree" or you wouldn't be posting here. That means that, as well as other things, you have just agreed to abide by rules that include not to post street racing threads/posts. Just to make it perfectly clear that the site does not condone street racing the "race related" section has just recently been renamed "Autocross & Sanctioned Drag Racing" with a description of "1/4 Mile, Auto X, Regulated Racing. No Street Racing Posts."

Hopefully the point has been made perfectly clear that not only is it against the rules but it also will not be tolerated and repeat offenders of the rule (as with any rule) will have actions taken against them accordingly.

I, being a forum whore, completely understand that this place has a few more rules than other places.. But it shows in a great way. This is a great community full of great people, and the fact that the rules are actually enforced really shines through with the overall maturity and intelligence of the members here. I stuck around here because of the overall atmosphere that has stemmed from the mods enforcing the rules so well, and hopefully others will appreciate it and realize that the mods/admins aren't just trying to be a thorn in your side, they're trying to make this a better place for everyone to post up and maybe make a few friends without having to trim the fat of all the worthless threads.

I'm just going to end my rant there.
