You guys are ridiculous. Why are you arguing just to be jackasses? It doesn't matter what the laws are or what people do or don't do off the board. Guess what? Webby owns the board and PAYS for it to be up. He says no street racing threads. Period. He is the boss. He hires volunteer moderators to help enforce his rules. It makes no difference if firm went out and went 160 racing a Porsche yesterday, AS LONG AS HE DOESN'T BRING IT TO THE BOARD. If you're a delivery driver, you're not going to drive like an asshat and speed like you normally do or your ass gets fired. If you're at work, you are not going to cuss and use offensive language (to some) like you might outside of work or your ass gets fired. The moderators are "hired" to do this "job", and they are doing a damn good job at it, or else webby wouldn't let them be mods. Lay off with the bullshit. You joined the site agreeing to the rules. You have a problem, talk to webby about it or GTFO.

Haha, not heated at all. Just telling it how it is. Some mods do get power/ban happy, but I think this really is one of the best forums around and the mods really do a great job. Sucks some people just want to stir things up through loopholes or things they don't agree with. If they don't like it, they can go make their own 8thcivic street racing board.

you can't tell them to do this or that, street racers will never get it and still do the same sh*t over and over.

I guess its just the moment where they are and whos with them. (some people think girls give them 50 more horses at the wheel)

overall, we don't need these kinds of threads. we do, but trust me, they will never get it.

Its their own life and they have their own choice to what to do. so lets leave them alone and laugh at them on the future.

Well first off, doing 80 in a 60 in a wide open lane with the c/c on doesn't bother me in the least bit. I've never claimed that I don't ever speed, and you'll never hear me claim anything that ridiculous. But the fact of the matter is street racing is leagues ahead of regular speeding as far as danger and consequences go.
Also we're not trying to change how people live their lives here. If people want to drop gears and split on the open freeway then so be it, just don't post it up here. I would rather not be an innocent bystander to something like that (which I was this morning after posting up in this thread, ironic) because if one of the kids racing doesn't know how to handle their car, which we all know is extremely likely, I'm the one that might get killed.

If you were just driving down the highway and a civic & ms3 flew by you doing 130 and you had your 2 year old daughter in your car wouldn't it piss you off? Now think about this.. What if that gti that you were running (not directed specifically towards Civicn33b at all, just generally speaking) was some noob driver that didn't know what he was doing and lost control and slammed into a car with a man and his daughter, would you feel responsible? I don't know about you but I wouldn't be able to live with myself if that happened.

By the way, this morning I was on my way to get some breakfast and a truck flew by me doing about 90. Not racing, just hauling ass.. I thought that it was stupid but didn't have a second thought about it after that until traffic picked up a bit and he didn't slow down.
As if that wasn't bad enough some guy in a mustang decided that he wanted to play cat and mouse and almost hit a dozen people. He was weaving in and out of traffic and hitting full throttle and slamming on the brakes. I stayed in the lane I had been in the entire time and he almost hit me personally 3 times by trying to do insane maneuvers through traffic.. all because a guy in a truck flew past him and he somehow felt intimidated.

I watched this guy lock up his brakes to not hit someone after almost clipping my front end trying to get in front of me by flying across 4 lanes of heavy traffic.. That is what I take a stand against.

I honestly don't have a problem with any type of race in a controlled environment, and I've said that before. If there's any traffic whatsoever you have an uncontrolled environment and it just results in ignorance and putting innocent peoples lives in danger. You never know what the guy up ahead is going to do, plain and simple. I won't ride bikes for the same reason, people in general drive like idiots.. But that's not the point. The point is that the rules were clearly displayed for every member here to read upon signing up and it was made very clear that those rules would be enforced.

If you want to street race, you have that freedom. I have the freedom to say it's incredibly stupid.. Congrats, we now have a circlejerk that gets nowhere. But it is not allowed on this forum and those threads and posts will be deleted so why even post them up? It would just make everything go a lot smoother if the posts just stopped.

I personally don't care to hear about street races because I think that the story gets twisted no matter who's telling it. I want to see slips that prove that you beat a so-and-so.. I want to give out rep for you running a damn good time on some stock all seasons. I want to see what your cars can do, not what you say they did.

Just a note for anyone viewing this now.. I just removed all the pictures of the tollbooth accident for a few reasons.

Please do not post them back up, that includes links to the pictures.

Thanks.

Street Politics is as Dirty as regular Govt Politics.

Why Did That Truck Pass me ??? Now i have to pass him.

Oh look... the Hyundai driver revved at me (maybe he accidentally revved or sum car trouble) NOW im gonna kill him.

Oh look a tC passed me...im gonna get her.

and it goes on and on.

its the street politics that have caused it.

the Imports Vs Domestics war...caused it.

The inferior vs superior caused it.

Enjoy ur driving......and always think 2 steps ahead....theres no competition here.

However, the biggest challenge I face is... keeping my cool ... when some ones giving me fly bys...or when sumones running me at lights.

I had been wondering about this quite a bit lately... I'm glad someone brought it up. If you street race (and especially if you discuss it on here)

You're a moron!!!

Take it to the track! Come on out to an autocross so I can whoop your ass with my 90 whp 15 year old family sedan grocery getter!!!

Easy to make such comments, when u got a 90 whp car.

I know I could, provided I had my old 99 eclipse. Heck, that car helped me push my insurance down. I couldnt speed even if i wanted to. However, that car had good handling, and just like you i could hauled in AUtoXs

Si coupe will test ur patience.

Yup, and around here lately all you need to do is drive a car that maybe looks like maybe you could possibly maybe sort of street race in it at some point and that picture is your fate...
