Can't you agree? I guess I'm just disappointed in my buy...
No I can't agree. Like others are saying, you're comparing a brand new car to a used car that probably takes a huge depreciation hit. Compare the car to a new 07 WRX, and those will run you $24,350 vs. a Civic SI sedan will run you like $21,885. I hope to god the WRX is a substantial amount better in performance, considering it costs a few thousand more AND gets horrible gas mileage (20/25).

I can hang with WRXs, I've done it before and beaten a few too. It's all about the following.

Mods you have vs. They have no mods (always good)
You vs Them (Driver)
Last but not least how good you take off, don't be scared to go against one, just be optimistic and hopefully the right car will prevail.

Why cant people appreciate hondas Si for what it is. Its a sporty high reving, fuel efficient engine with vtec. It was designed that way for a reason by honda, to give us the best of both worlds. Great cruising fuel economy with the ability to thrill our little minds above 6000 RPMs.

Im tired of people buying this amazing little car and then they are all shocked when the lose to an obviously more powerful car and start putting the Si down or complain about it in some way like its the cars fault. Dont blame the car or honda people. Honda designed it the way it is and marketed it that way. we are the ones who chose to buy it. So its simple, either mod the hell out of it (which is what people have been doing to the Si for years) or sell it and buy something else.

i was going to get a wrx, but decided if it wasn't hte sti, i wouldn't be 100% content knowing theres a trim higher then what i'd have.

FWD ftw, i dont think anything takes turns quite as hard.

I have to agree. I bought my si knowing it wasnt going to be that fast. I really liked the car and bought if for what it is. The STI is over 30g's which I think is ridiculous. It's a cool car but thats a lot of money. I'd rather buy a 3 series bimmer for that price. I'd really like an M3 but now we're talking 40 g's +. The Si is a very good car for the money and I'm very happy with mine. Mine is still bone stock too. Wait till I start modding it. Also I didnt buy the car to beat any specific make veh. I bought it because it's fun to drive. I'm happy!

Yaa... good luck with that. That is pretty easily in the low 12's if not faster. I don't think many of the AJP folk have run that yet. Once the mods start, it's pretty much game over for us. Even stage 1 Cobb gives a pretty considerable gain for what it is. Stock for stock though, I'd say the 2.0 is a drivers race depending on who can launch well, and the 2.5 race going to the subie. Damn I love those cars, but just couldn't get into the 06+ enough to get a new one..

BTW: Your friend is going to be in a world of hurt when he's pushing those numbers on the stock 5 speed... If you keep racing him, maybe his tranny will explode in one of the races, and you can claim victory

Yea I actually thought hard about my Si and I think seeing my buddy dropping over $2k into his car in one day made me jealous...
I'll just stick with my Si because honestly it is fun to drive and a great commuter since I drive for my job all day.
Just ordered a pair of Tein S techs!

Agreed. No matter how slow it is, if it puts a smile on my face driving it, that's all that counts.
