I happen to thinik the SRT-4 looks better than the SI, just the SRT-4's interior sucks more.

Having said that.. an LX for 20k? Are you for real? I got my SI for $20,200 AND $900 more than I should've on the trade-in. An LX is more like ~16k, not 20k. I hate when people make an argument like this and used ridiculously skewed numbers to make their point.

Having said all that, an SRT-4 WILL rape you front and back, left and right. Yes.. in all those directions. You can't beat the price to power ratio on that car, not in our SI's, which I think are a smidgen over-priced. But that's a different thread.
I agree with every word posted by my 8th gen fellow youngen. I've owned an SRT-4 and it will rape the hell out of you unless you get a greddy turbo kit, or comptech stage 1 then it will be a good race. And if the SRT-4 has MINOR mods like intake, exhuast, waste gate so fourth you will still be TOAST even with your F/I on your K20. Remember it is a 2.4 turbo, it responds much better to mods than the K20, it is forced induction and it has more displacement....

It wasn't an SRT-4 or I call bullshit.

Guys remember the SRT-4 is dynoing about 220whp-230whp STOCK! and it is light as hell almost the same weight as the civic...

il pay extra for the Honda reliability.......over the dodge reliability. I wouldnt even compare them reliability wise....

I like the domestic marketing strategy.......if u cant sell because some ( choice, brand loyalty, reliability, quality ) issues, give the consumers an offer they cant refuse. Now let the buyers have some fun as long as it lasts.

The only place the srt4, SS, and Redline beats the Si is in speed. Thanks to Turbo and SC.....theyr cheap for the factory......and thats the best they could come up with to beat their rivals. Plus the USDM gets more advantages than foreign companies....TAX wise.

KingMarine, i have been tryin' to set the record straight in here man some people just don't know. Anyone who has had an srt4 and driven the si knows that the difference in straight line performance is night and day. The srt4 was a hell of a performance machine.....to bad it sucks at life at everything else.

Yes, people asked me how I liked it and my reply is always, "It is fast", then I continue "It sucked at handling, gas mileage, ugly, cheap interior but it was fast."

Sorry Si owners you won't win this race or argument. I have experience with BOTH cars and I bet 90% of yall dont.

The .4 liters of displacement doesn't really mean much here I think. The turbo application has far more to do with who will win or who responds to mods.. snail size is probably the biggest factor. I mean 7-8 lbs on AJP and we're in the 350whp range. SRT-4 is boosting more than that stock, but probably has a smaller turbo and more restrictive factory parts. But something more mild like a Greddy setup puts us right around stock SRT whp numbers.

I like the SRT a lot because it's pretty unique. It's looks are meh, but it's a great package and I love that exhaust burble. The Si seems so apples to oranges with every car because it's pretty much the only one still NA.

Of course the turbo car will beat the NA car in a strait line. The OP asked by how much. He never said it would be close.

The speed3 will beat the SI along with all other stock FI cars on the market.

To whoever said an LX is only 16k you need to take one less bong hit in the morning. There are quite a few people on here who wound up in an SI because they were so close in price. Gas mileage matters to a lot of people. Look at how much a damn hybrid is and the gas isnt even that much better than i got in my 93 civic.

Then they just don't know how to get their boost up before a race.

Um.. .4 is 1/5 of 2 so yes a 20% increase of displacement is a lot.

Thread closed, discussions gone downhill and turned to member bashing and discussion of things not happening at legal drag strips or autox courses.
