I agree with you except these sentences. The SRT line doesn't carry the 7/70 at least that is what I was told when I bought one. Also, the reliabilty of my car (srt4) was terrible, and yes it was a fast car with a great engine and tranny but that is all the car had going for it. If you wanted a fast factory car that had horrible reliability, no CC, no power backwindows, cheap plastic interior (the interior looks the same as it did in 99 with a boost gauge added of course) then it was the car for you.

That is why i LMAO on this site when people complain of the civic's interior.........they have no idea what cheap truly is........

The SRT4, it may be a Neon, but at least it's not a Caliber...

If you had told me before the SRT4 was announced that Dodge could make a pretty badass performance machine out of a Neon, I would have laughed in your face.

If you had told me two years ago that Dodge would make the next SRT based off something other than a neon and it would actually be significantly worse, I would also have laughed in your face.

Dodge is all about surprises.

I must of bought the wrong Honda Si...mine is a great car but I doubt it can win against an SRT4...unless that driver doesn't know how to shift...

Idk, though I never have owned one personaly, I've worked in the service dept at a Dodge dealership for the first two years the car was in production, and I have known alot of people with them. The same things that plauge SRT-4s are the same thing that plauge Neons: leaky windshield seals, ac drains, ect. I wouldn't nessisarily call that "unreliable" no more so as I would say the 8th Civic is "unreliable" because it has an abs sensor seal recall. All cars have little stupid stuff that goes wrong. Infact, most Neons in general I have found pretty reliable, aside from Chrysler's crappy automatic trans (not found in the turbo car, of course). The interior is definetly rental car grade, but what do you expect for an American compact car with a sub 20k price tag?

I agree with your last sentence completely without a doubt. I was just saying that i find it funny how people complain of the civic interiors...that's all.

Even though I said the engine and tranny were badass (with the fwd drivetrain and all the power) that was the majority of the problems with them. There were 5-6 of us in my area that had them. 3 of those had tranny problem, and two of them needed new ones. Given this is a car that people beat on, but these specifically were still stock with less than 10k miles on them. The other main issues i heard of were motor mount and interior issues.

Now i could talk about my story with my srt4 and my problems........but that would take years to explain. Long story short my car was so screwed up i ended up winning a lawsuit against Chrysler. Let's just say my car spent months in various dealerships for them to tell me "sorry we can't fix the car".

My car was a POS without a doubt, but similar situations happened to several people in my area with the neon srt4. Tranny, motor, motor mounts, and an entire array of suspension issues lead the laundry list of issues with the srt4 guys i knew.

lol. if you know so much of what your talking about than please post dyno results of anyone on this forum with the reflash/header/exhaust/intake that is at/over 210....
thats right.....i didnt think you could...

but i can post results of people that have those mods and their rpms clearly start to drop off after 8k.
DCRH+DC cat back+Hondata reflash & IMG=surprising results

glxygry06si is correct. with all the n/a mods that are available for this car at the moment, no one is over 210 whp unless they have cams of this amazing new intake made by xfaxtor.

everyone who makes all these "ricer" knocks and stuff.... have you realized that most everyone on this board drives a honda? I mean, a car with LED winshield wash nozzles and a spoiler 10 ft. high and a coffee can on the back definitely can be called uncle ben's... but still

As far as the OP, RIP on race day... sorry man

My 10 year old son and his friends believe my civic is the fastest car ever made. I thought you had to be at least 13 to post here.

ricer does not mean honda. wikipedia says this.

More contemporary use of the term rice burner, along with the prefix rice, has taken on an alternate pejorative meaning for an automobile that has been modified to give impression of high performance, but does not necessarily have any high-performance capabilities.

just a quick search buddy. now bow ur bird chest back down.

lol. i dont see where your going wiht this? are you calling us ricers because we have hondas and neon windshield washer sprayers? because i think you are stereotyping a little bit. there are very few people on here that have neon on their car (or maybe most of them just dont admit it because of embarresmant?), but to say that everyone who owns a honda is a ricer and has neons is insulting.
