I think he's talking about newer GT's though, those things are DAMN fast. I'm not a fan of any ford ('cept the trucks) But the new GT's really are a great performance car for the money. They shift like sh*t though, ford gearbox's suck! |

that isn't possible unless he didn't realize you were racing and he was shifting normally. |

I have a friend that has an 03 MT GT. Geared, Cold air, no mufflers, Short shifter and from a 25 roll he'll put about 2 cars on me till about 90 or so.
We did go once when he was not geared and only pulled ahead where I was on his rear bumper. I have a dead stock FA5. GT's aren't that fast. But then again, if we're talking about apples to oranges... it doesn't get much more rediculous than this. |

I agree that they are not the fastest car in the world. I can speak from real life exp and track time as well. I have seen several stock 99-04 gt's run 13.9-14.3 at the track in richmond, and the fastest non-stock si i have seen went 14.7 Some stock si's i remember were in the low 15s (including myself at the time). There should be about ~1 sec difference in times stock for stock on average....which to me is a significant amount of time. From a roll which is what you speak of the race will be closer as the top end of the gt's are subject at the least, but a true race (from a dig) forget about it. |
