On the other hand, on the same night that my friend and I ran 14.1 and 14.2, respectively, in our '01 GT's, there were 3 other virtually stock 99-04 GT's running 14.3 or better. If anyone wants to talk about the 14.3 for the Si, we'll be happy to talk about stock 99-04 GT's running 13.7's... It's only fair that if one is talking about BEST times, the other can as well. Can anything happen when driver is factored into the equation? Absolutely... but the 99-04 GT is the faster car, on average, by several tenths. |

99-04: ~190hp, ~225 ft*lb --- Careful with 5-speeds if you can't drive your Si 05-08: ~210hp, ~240 ft*lb --- 5-speeds have gone high 14's Edit: Obviously, this reply took me too long haha |

he is talking about the new 05+ v6's with the 4.0 not the 99-04 with the 3.8, and yes they run 14s easily. The 05+ v8's in the mid to low 13's stock. |

because IIRC, the SI is a mid-high 14 second car (average) the 05+ v6 is about the same but the 05+ v8 @ mid-low 13 seconds....i dont know about that. i need a few dyno slips to prove this. i cna understand averaging around 13.5-14, but consistantly below 13.5...i doubt that. |

You sound about right on most of it. The new gt's are running very close to what ls1's used to run 13.3-13.5 with a MTX. I have seen worse times but typically or avg is ~ mid 13's. ATX gt's are high 13's though iirc usually. |

...Although, Evan Smith, driver extraordinare, managed to drive a 99-04 V6 5-speed to a 14.94. The only change from stock was removing the spare tire, IIRC. That's never been duplicated, though... which is why I wouldn't claim they are high 14-second cars. Oh, and the 99-04 V6's don't weigh as much as you may think. Mine weighed ~2995lbs when stock, according to shipping weight. |

It also ran 13.6's-13.7's@102-103 mph in almost 3000' of DA. I figure the car has 13.3's@105-106 mph in it with some practice and nice weather...maybe better. Car is stock. |

Ok I have to chime in here. Does anybody really care if some Honda fanboy thinks his Si can beat a GT? Does it really affect your life in any way? I honestly do not see the need for a thread like this. You can talk about stats all day long (and alot of people do) but the only way to find out who will win a race is to race. That is what the "Race Related" section is for, real sanctioned racing. Whether you like drag racing, drifting, auto crossing or rally racing, thats what this forum is meant for. It is not meant to be a place where a bunch of people argue about which factory car will beat another factory car. I don't mean to offend anybody but these threads are really starting to get old.
