the perfect launch

alright well i just raced my friend who has a 94 integra ( everyone sayin he has a gsr motor with a ls head ) and LOST

he's fast but the last time we raced i beat him by 1 n a half and now he beats me by 1 n a half

im so mad and disappointed in my self and i know he didn't get anything new. well i think one of the reasons i lost because i launched differently because i use to launch at 3500 but now that i have the td i launch at 3000 cause it seems like i peel out to much with 3500 and another reason being that my tires are almost gone. so yea thats my story so can anyone tell me the best way to launch? my current mods are injen cai buddyclub catback exhaust p2r spacer ingalls td n twm short shifter. o yea what does featherin the clutch mean?

feathering = slipping the clutch

Your tires probably cost you the race. The stock tires sucketh and when worn sucketh even more. Invest in some sticky tires and launch at 3500.

Are you serious your friend has a gsr block with a LS head. I think it's a LS/V set up. LS block w/ gsr head.

But I think you tires is the problem. You mentioned your tires were almost gone which is a big factor in launching.

After reading the title of this thread, I decided to view it, hoping for an articulate commemoration of the joys of nailing that perfect launch & the happiness that moment brings the poster, if fleeting, is so satisfactory that one can't help but smile at the memory.

ummmmmmmmmmmm powershift next time. you cant really expect to beat a car that is probably 2200lbs and makes 180+hp when your car weights 2850 and makes maybe 17+hp.
