Impressions of First Drag Racing.

(I'm car #124 )

Shoot me. I SUCK :\

I went up to Great Lakes Dragaway today - $37 for a "non-hooking" track - and raced my Si.
Took out the Spare tire, But raced with my 220 lb. Father in my car. (figure it in if you choose.)

Best time was 15.2, my first run, Catching and passing a Stripped '91 Hatch Si, worst was 17.88 an (Damned Third gear and bouncy launch...)

If you noticed... I also lost to a girl after beating her off the line by .6 seconds, I ****ed second for .7 seconds. Coulda taken her too. Damn, I woulda taken an SRT.4 by .1 seconds.

Overall:

I think my Manhood, and more importantly, ego, shrank.

I'm surprised that they let you have a passanger in your car. I thought usually if you're racing you are by yourself.

But don't worry man, just keep practicing on your launching and shifting then you'll be in the 14s.

without your dad in the car that 15.2 would've been a high 14 second 1/4.. nice

lol. Yea then you were probably falling out of VTEC on the 1-2 shift. If thats the case that should get you into the 14's at least just for full throttle shifting.
