track night

ok so i went to the track last night but to be honest i think that track really sucks, no time slips to give and have to have a friend watch your time on this little clock they hace. so anywaqys i got a few races in before it rained and i noticed all my speeds were about 87 -89mph when i crossed the line and the clock would show 16.4, 16.0, 16-2 and then finally my last run was a 15.8. now i was wondering if there was a formula to do to get a more accurate time of what i was really getting. also its a stock 4dr si and im wondering, am i not racing it right i see on this forum most people are getting low 15s to high 14s how exactly are you guys riunning your cars i.e. launching off limiter while feathering clutch? and digging your tach into the redline? just curoius.

Dude, I am telling you you could probably do a little better but not much. That track, for starters, sucks, on top of that you are at 3900 ft out there by joe battle. Not to mention 90 degrees even at night. I wouldnt be suprised if the best you could do was a 15.5. Cars dont run right out there.
Even stock LS1's are breaking like 13.8 which we know could be closer to 13.3 or so, and thats all of them not just the ones with shitty drivers.

i do agree with you that the track sucks i was just curious why i wasnt pulling better times but i guess you answered it and atleast i finally broke into the 15s. do you own an si too? if you do we should meet at the track one time with any other si's. thanks man.

LOL na that guy doesn't have an Si, He drives a Volvo S60... But He knows his shit. I was able to pull a "14.3" at that shitty track on All season tires. I don't believe it though.
