How was your shifting? Were you quick shifting or power shifting? Also, what RPM did you shift at?

not sure how I feel about those times except PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE. was that your first time launching the car? Where'd you launch (rpm wise) from?

To consistantly run bad times like that is crazy to me. I am not sure what to say.....did you shift early and fall out of the vtec window? Also doesn't that trap speed seem low to anyone else?

I shifted right after 8100rpm each shift, I dont powershift due to not wanting to scrap the tranny, off the line I have to ease up off the throttle due to the wheel hop being bad and dont want to break an axle (hearing that BANG BANG BANG is a bit scary with a new car).

Trying to get used to this drive by wire throttle, on my h22a accord, I was getting consistent 2.2 60fts and could launch that car about perfect on crappy 15 inch generic street tires.

It sounds like you might have left VSA on? My car only made the "bang bang bang" noise when I forgot to turn VSA off. What are you launching at? My first time at the track I got down to a 14.9 on winter tires , sadly it was 90 degrees and humid out so that didn't help. I got a better time each time I upped my launch rpms. Where is the track at?

I would just work on your shifting and launching some. Practice will only make you better. The thing that made me mad was my goal was just to get into the 14's and my first run ever was a 15.02 with VSA on. I would have broken into the 14's my first try if I wouldn't have forgotten to turn my VSA off again (I turned of my car in the lanes while I waited.) I launched at 4000 and feathered the gas and that netted me a 2.2 60'. I would love to be able to get that down even more.

I thought thats what this car ran was a 15 sec 1/4, the guys at edmunds aren't your "rookie drivers"

I looked at the edmunds site, they launched at 3500rpm, so I went after work and found a nice empty stretch of road, came to a standstill and brought the rpms up to about 3500 rpm, and took off, hardly any wheel hop and the car took off like a hot chic running nekkid through a football stadium.

You have to hit 2nd gear really hard. If you dont you'll drop out of vtec so at least powershift 2nd only. If you shift @ 8300 and to 2nd it'll drop down to 5800 or so, i think thats right, roughly. So if you dont get it right your out of Vtec.

And the Si is a high 14 second car. This car has a very narrow power band and if you go outside it your in the 15's
