AutoX newbie question

is there any where in illinois where i can go try out auto-x without participatin...like practice... like a track...

Just register in a local event. That's the best way to GET practice. It'll cost you a maximum of $30 registration (though probably cheaper) & you'll get your first taste of seat time.

Local club members would probably even ride with you & give you pointers.

You're not going to win your first event-- it's all about improving one's self as a driver.

ive seen them autox in a parkin lot...with jus cones...whats the difference with real tracks?

Cones in a parking lot IS autocross.

A real track is a whole other ball game.
