Me vs Blown Stang

Very close race.. the first 5 feet. After that it was GAME OVER. Dude runs 12.9's. Thing is, I thought he was some ricer GT. He had a full Roush kit, an SVT emblem on the trunk, and some cobras on his fenders with some really long decals trailing off of them. Ended up he had a Vortec SQ trim LOL. All he had was the custom exhaust to route to the Roush kit and that, so I could barely hear the blower. Guy just pulled me like nothing. Any more details might make this "track" visit not seem like one. I have RT cat and Vibrant Exhaust.

EDIT: This was the 99-04 style with a 4.6

Sorry not a mustang fan so i'm gonna rip on it . 12.9 is crap for being supercharged.

Edit: Well 12.9 is good for the old ones since they run like 14.0 stock. Though for a second it was a 06 lol.

Sounds like a good old school beat down, the best kind of beat down there is. Good stuff, at least you now know to stay away from that stang.

Yea i wanna say they run 14.0's stock. Never was a mustang fan speaking a 2003 stock Camaro SS would beat a stock supercharged Cobra. I think the difference between the CS cobra and the NA cobra is like 0.3 in the 1/4 lol.

Edit: Was it a cobra or a GT?

It's not too bad of a time. It's pretty much just a bolt on kit. He had no supporting mods really, except a catback exhaust routed to the Roush cutouts. It's pretty hard to say though, since I'm sure he had to have some sort of tune to go along with it, and no idea what he's boosting etc. 12.9 is also pretty good in AZ methinks. I ran a best of 13.8 with my old stanger with about 250 whp and 300 wtq (about the same as a stock 05+). I had a friend with an 05 with 4.10's, xpipe and catback with a tune (I think close to 300whp) and he could only muster I think a 13.1 or 13.2. Our tracks down here aren't prepped that great, or AZ just sucks.

And then there's my 15.5 in my stock Si........ maybe I just suck at driving :P

To tell you the truth, I'm not sure..I had VSA on most of the night (I'd forget to disable it after restarting the car waiting in the lanes). But for whatever reason, the timeslip machine was down or something, so I had to stare at the boards as I was going through the traps just to see my times. I think my traps were in the low 90's, around 92-93? I think I had some really crappy 60's as I was bogging most of the night (VSA), but can't confirm due to lack of slips... My friend has a Fujita SRI and Skunk2 60mm, and I was barely pulling him by about 1/2 a car when I was stock, so I think my car is OK, and I thought I was OK, but who knows lol. Maybe we both suck at driving

IMO, he IS a ricer. He's got SVT emblems and Cobras on a GT.

Umm... no, a stock Camaro SS will not beat a stock S/C Cobra. '03 Cobra's have gone 12.3's, bone stock. You might get an SS to do that if your track is on the side of a mountain.

Yeah, a good driver can run a 14.0 in a stock 99-04 GT 5-speed.

Also, a 12.9 is an "OK" time for a S/C GT. That's what my '01 GT ran, but it traps 111mph in Florida heat, so it's definitely got better ET's in it if it could get off the line. Cheap-o 245-width Fuzion's aren't really the best tire for that, either.

Come on, Ibanez, you can do better than that

My slower-than-stock 2000 V6 Mustang would have run right with that time. Your 60's must have really been killing you or something. I imagine going from RWD to FWD would be a significant adjustment Definitely get back to the track when the timeslips are actually working to see what's up.
