Acura CSX with K20Z2 engine VS Mazda 3 2.3L

Do you think I can smoke him? Let's say the drivers' experience are equal, just comparing those cars. Stock VS Stock and all are MT.

You should whoop him for sure. Just don't miss any shifts.

I was thinking to get a short shifter for my next mod. I feel that the shifting is bit too far from gear to gear but I'm getting more use to it now.

What do you guys recommend to mod to improve my car performance, not big mod tho...

Cold air intake and cat back exhaust for starters.

Those are good mods, but if you're looking for cheaper than that, pick up the Corsport shift linkage bushings. They will compliment your short shifter really well. That was the best $30 i've put into my car yet. It makes the shifts much more crisp, and solid feeling.

Matt, how much stiffer is the shifting? I have done several shift linkage mods, but generally, they are much stiffer to move the shifter. While the shifting is more precise, you really have to engage each gear. How would you compare the smoothness to the stock shifter?

I think he's referring to the 2.3 Mazda3 S (not speed). The car's curb weight is somewhere around 2,888 lbs.

You should have no problems running a 2.3 Mazda3 S.
