Nice video, Eugene! I know we talked about the camera mount but can you tell me again where you got it?
By the way, I'm so impressed with how my Si performed. It exceeded all my expectations. Now I find myself mulling over front sway bar sizes and track tire/wheel combos. And DOT 4 brake fluid! LOL! |

What do you recommend for an 06 Si with stock suspension? I'm trying to keep the car fairly stock. So I'm thinking of doing 3 things (brakes have already been addressed): 1. Larger rear sway bar with beefier end links. What's a good rear sway bar size/brand? Or maybe I should go with a smaller LX front bar and keep the stock rear bar? 2. Street/track alignment 3. R-compounds (Nitto NT01, Toyo RA1, or maybe even Hoosiers if I can get them at an affordable price (yeah, right!)) Again, I'm trying to keep the car fairly stock but would like to improve handling. I think I'll gain the most from the R-comps. Thanks for any suggestions re: sway bars. Mike |

2.) An alignment would help out. Get a little camber (I'd say you wouldn't need more than -1 degrees) up front and remove most (if not all) of the camber in the rear. I'd set toe to 0 front and rear. It's something that will help out the driving dynamics of the car but not eat up tires on the street. 3.) I NEVER recommend R-compound tires to amateur drivers that are just attending track days. The reason is they have so much grip that they do not communicate to the driver what is going on. By the time they've passed their grip limits the results will be very unexpected for a novice driver and that may not end up well. What I would recommend is a tire like the Falken Azenis. It's a streetable tire with a stiff sidewall that will help the handling of the car yet still provide good communication to you as far as what is going on with the tire. Hope that helps. |
