So My Track Time Last Night Was.......

First time at the track with the Si, and to be honest first time really trying to launch the car hard. I have always had cars with a ton of torque so last night was interesting.

I left all equipment in the car, and left my tire psi where it is during regular driving. I wanted to see how my car would perform in the "real" world if you will.

2.3577--60'
9.8427--1/8
73.64mph--1/8 trap
15.0024--1/4
94.94mph--1/4 trap

I was disappointed in my 60', and I only ran a couple times and I could never got anything good 2.35-2.4 all three times. My other times where 15.1-15.3. I guess alot of my problem could have been the great all-season tires I have, and me never driving a car like this before. Hopefully with a flash and the R/T high-flow cat (and new tires!) I may see mid 14s.

What do you guys think? My trap seems decent for a SRI and cat back IMO.

Still had a ton of fun. On a side note a RSX type s was running HIGH 15's (15.8-15.9) all night so perhaps the track conditions were not the best. No excuse for me though I need to learn my launch techniques.

Can someone explain the 60 foot thing to me? I understand everything about 1/4 mile slips until people mention the 60 foot. Does the 2.3577 indicate it took the OP 2.3577 seconds to go 60 feet down the track?

Yes, i believe so at least lol.

Yea w/ stickier tires easy 14.7-8.

Also what were you launching at? and how much spin through 1st?

Basically your 60 foot mark is going to tell you if you can improve on your launch. The faster of course you are to the 60 foot mark, the better your launches and shows things you could improve on. You can try several techniques with this, and just compare them to your last run. If your 60 foot mark is getting faster then in theory, your ovrall time should be better and your trap speed should be higher.

I was launching bewteen 3-3.5k with moderate to heavy wheel spin through first. These all-season tires are not meant for the track that is for sure.
