I think you're confused.. The S2000 is the one that can beat F1 cars.. It even sounds like one!

99+ Mustang GTs are fairly fast. Their powerband is monstrously broad and you gotta love RWD. I don't see a stock SI beating a stock GT on the straights... maybe an automatic but not a manual models.

I'd agree, but I had peak power right around 4K I think.. I could see the Mustang pulling the Si in first gear, maybe barely pulling a bit more in 2nd/3rd, and probably then easily pulling more in 4th against an Si, IMO.

EDIT: Whoops, it was 5K I miss that power output, but not that nasty dropoff.

If the stang driver knows what they are doing they should pull HARD in first if for no other reason that fact that is RWD and a TQ monster. 2nd in my stang will plant you back hard as well

ps nice graph

I'd probably agree.. I just went with that because I think the Si is the 'strongest' in 2nd and 3rd and just seems damn slow from a dig. When I went to the track, the 350's did just that. My VSA was on and my launches weren't great, but they pulled hard on me in first.

139 ft/lb of TQ lol That is why man. Not to mention my car feels slow as crap period until I hit vtec. People next to me at lights must think i am racing them, but you have to rev high to make any damn power lol.....I miss my turbo

Torque is a major factor. Even more so when the mustang has more than twice as much. Also the RWD with the wide tires, just hooks up better

those 99gts have 240hp, and 300 tourque i believe? also its about the same weight as your SI. dont even get started that theres svt cobras which have 320HP, and then all the mustang guys that mod there cars just like civic guys. Only dif is they got like 5 maunifactures that make blower kits, any bolt on you can think of, and those v8s make tons of power when modded. i think you might be able to stick with him up to about 60mpg, but after 2nd gear is over youd be wishin you bought a muscle car lol

caddy

I remember my first car a few years ago, a 94 seville northstar. You could get 3.73 gears and a 300 hp screamer of a v8 stock. Any mustang owner I ran into wasnt much of a match stock for that car which was pretty light and had a pretty stiff suspension in its first and maybe second year of production.

Also people brag about honda and their great little motors and I do love my new black si more than any mustang (camaro is another story) but the most powerful and reliable 4 cylinder I've driven for an extended period of time was an olds quad 4.

They probably shouldnt have had the hurst name attached but when your in the 80's making a dohc inline 4 at 2.4 liters with descent torque and pushing 200 horsepower you must have been doing something right. My dads favorite motor of all time and hes worked on everything from boxer engines to building a 500plus cubic inch powered fwd olds tornado. Didnt use a drop of oil either and I hammered that thing all the time when I first got my liscence. Of course it got wrecked by a dumbass caltrans worker with not enough insurance to cover the chain reaction she caused in her brand new ford fiesta though.

Sorry for the long post just wanted throw in some different cars which are somewhat common in my area but that nobody really mentions much.

And is there anybody who cant stand v6 mustangs or is it just me?

3892lb is "pretty light"? Plus, it was FWD. I'm sure it would be faster than a stock 94 Mustang GT, but a 99-04 Mustang GT would definitely be "a match" for it. 35 fewer horsepower in the Mustang, but it's RWD and weighs ~500lb+ less than the Caddy.

Ok where to start on this post........First 99-04 GT's have 260hp and 302 lb/tq, second a mustang is not the same weight as an SI. The 99 cobras had 320 (but was scaled down some due to SAE standards) the 03-04 cobras had 390 hp. And finally no you will not be able to hang with a GT until 60 MPH......it is from a dig that you will be destroyed by the TQ and RWD factors.

Sorry not trying to be an ass, but I don't want people to be misinformed.
