06 si vs. 240sx

well i raced a 240sx (unknown mods but it was the 90 turbo model)the other nightand i must say it was a good race.the first race was from a 30mph roll and i got him by 1/4 of a car.and the sec. was from a stop which he got me cuz of me lanching to high and spinning to long.but it probl. would have been a close race if i wouldnt have been spinning so much.after we pulled in a parking lot where all his friends were at and got out and met all them.they where pretty cool.i didnt get to ask him what his mods are but from what he and his friends where telling me that he usually beats k20's by 3 to 4 car lenghts and he was surprised when i got him from a roll and was able to stay in the fight from a stop even with my bad lanch.we couldnt all chat to much cuz some idiots started doing donuts in the road and was attracting to much attention and trying to start trouble with us so we all left.

but i told him that i want a rematch from a dig.

When did nissan ever offer a '90 240sx with a turbo in the US? The USDM 240's don't stand a chance against us.

it was boosted.

i have i/h/e/reflash and i was shifting perfect from the 30 mph roll.my only mess up was from a dig at the launch.

nice races
depending on his mods, he could take you out pretty easily

basic turbokit + ems + boost controller + downpipe/exhaust

can put them in 260-280whp range
also his psi is still a mystery

although, same could be done in a si...

yeap.the next time i see him i will ask him his mods. he might have a swap to a stock sr20. i dont know

but those numbers i put up there are on the stock motor

The USDM motor in those is the same as the nissan tuck, WEAK. Have to boost or get the JDM one.

Stock they do like a 9.0 0-60

...and that truck engine as you call it has more torque than the k20 and it's a pretty noticable difference when you own both cars. I wish my Si had the torquey feel at low rpm's that my 240 does. The Si is definately a better overall vehicle, but I miss being able to throw my ass into a nice sideways slide whenever I feel like it when I'm driving the Si...not that I condone that kind of behavior or anything... haha

oh man. I was so close to getting a 240 and doing the whole sr20 swap as a nice project vehicle. But then it hit me that I needed lots of cash flow if i wanted it to keep up with the other sr20 beasts out there.

these guys that roll around my hood they are twin 240sx that are both boosted (the only mod that i know of), but i have kept up with both of them from a dig. nice straight bodys early 90's just need paint jobs, but fun times. and everytime i run into them the try and race,
but i dont cause i dont have any new mods and i know the outcome

lol yea.but i kinda like being the only n/a 4banger that can take on the 6,8 cylinders and 4banger turbos.its kinda fun to see there face when ur still next to them or beating them.

but i do plan on f/i just waiting for a stand alone system to come out.

yea but around here most just do the swap and leave it in stock form.there is only a few here that are done right.but whatever he had i still got him from a roll and would have gotten him from a dig if i would have launched right.but only by a half car at the most.so he had something under the hood that was able to keep up with me.

Hey you might want to rephrase that and say the STOCK USDM motor is weak. My bros' gonna kill you. The KA24E/DE are very stout motors and they handle boost really well. On a 17 yr. old engine, just replacing the exhaust with a 3 inch cat-back can let you gain 10+ whp.

I also like the majority of 240sx owners more than the majority of Civic owners. Hihihi, don't get me wrong. They just seem to be more hands-on types of guys with their cars.
