I've been noticing the AutoX thread lately and just noticed there was no official Track / HPDE threads, mostly threads from MikeJ that get a lot of attention. So I think this should be the official Track / HPDE talk and chat thread.

I'll attempt to post up any links I find here that relate to this thread so they're easily found.

Good Thread with a little chat and good recommendations.

Next I'll give a little info about myself and it would be cool if we could copy the AutoX thread and get little introductions on people.

Name: Alex
Cars: 2009 Civic Si (Just a progress sway bar on it), 1998 BMW M3 Sedan (Track Rat)
Info: This will be my second track season and will be my first with the Civic, last year I had the pleasure to drive at New Hampshire International Speedway, and Watkins Glen, in a number of different e36's.

So who are the other track rats on the forum?

Well would the toe in help keep it planted on the highway? That's what I did for my M3, it felt much better with the bit of toe in out back. Or is just more neg camber up front than in rear makes it unstable because if so then it's not worth it I drive much more than I race with this car.

Is rear toe not adjustable on ours? If it is I might just try a hair of toe in out back to see if it actually helps, plan on doing the firestone lifetime so I guess it'd be worth it, if it doesn't work I'll do a hair of toe out in the front as well 1/16th.

Does anybody have the part number for the crash bolts? I'll need an alignment after right?

If I have them align it to spec can I just adjust the crash bolts after or will it screw with my toe?

I'm not sure, but people do it and I've never heard of getting something to adjust it so I would assume it is. One autocrosser on here, civicsi52 i think, wrote a post saying he had 1/16 (if i remember correctly) toe out in the rear. He said that he had never had a fwd spin out that much. Then he put it back to 0 and liked it there.

I was planning on doing the firestone as well, but apparently some firestones wont let you go out of OEM spec, so check before you pay the 125$.

04512-SNA-305 and you will need 4, yes you need a front wheel alignment. I think caster is off when you install.

I dont think it will, if you dont touch the tie rods I think you'd be fine. But you can check and change it at home pretty easily. You dont need to have a flat surface or anything. Watch the part 1,2,3 of the video i posted above, idk exactly where toe is just skip through. It will tell you how to do it.

If I do the lifetime alignment I might just try the toe in at the rear, I don't know why but it just seems like it would work for me haha. Out make sense for getting the car to spin, tire will want to drift that way rather than toward each other right?

I will call the couple local ones today and see what they say, they're going to want that business....

Think I'll order them from majestic this week, this sucks Majestic Honda is 2 minutes from my house literally and figures I move away to school when I get in the Honda scene....

Might just have firestone do toe and I'll do camber....but still hope they do adjust the rear for me.

Has anybody here looked into injected mounts? Think they'd help on the track, supposedly they help with shifting...

So I did a lot of karting this wknd, and met this guy who showed me a case/mount for the iPhone 4 that basically makes it like a gopro. It's waterproof and has a case that can take hard impact without hurting the phone. It also let's you use the screen when it's in the case with some sensitive layer or something. It's made by optrix and costs 90$. I'm definitely going to pick one up
