Well i have been a on lurker here for a couple of years
and have read that our civics our generally faster than 2v mustang 99-04
well i went to the drag strip saw this convertible mustang it was automatic and i thought why not talk a little trash

so he called me out and we raced he beat me really bad he ran a 13.9@100
vs my 15 flat
i was very embarased when they openned up his hood and it was mostly stock besides a intake and flowmasters which every mustang owner has
he also didnt have a back seat i thought he had a stall but he didnt it was stock from what the other guys were saying (chevy guys and srt4 guys)

what did i mess up on is my car messed up?

why would you talk trash on someone you don't even know? you got what you deserved on that one bud...but you aren't really giving any info about the cars involved, what kind of mustang? what do you have done to your car?

he gave me plenty of info on his car he wasnt being a **** to me the other guys were the camaro guys mostly his car was a 2001 gt all he had was no back seat or anything in the trunk allumin cai kit of some sort off road pipe with flowmasters and stock everything else

i read on here all the time that we beat those cars easily i thought it was true i assumed it was

i really felt so embarrased my car only has a injen cai kit

the chevy guys kept being the most ****s to me ever

you cant shift? and arent on slicks. with 15 flat your doing something wrong.

i knew i should be running closer to him or keeping up with him

what should my car be running where do you recommend me shifting
im going back there again soon and want to try everything to get this car out of the 15's

No, even if you think you know what you are doing. My friends similar GT with less mods and probably more tuning runs 13.1's consistently on street tires.

Probably about what you ran, next time try a V6 mustang instead.

yeah that guy had a rear end that sounded like it was about to snap before we raced
he told me he wasnt gonna launch as hard because his rear was busted so i might get him
he wasnt kidding his rear end sounded like it was gonna grenade on him

well at least i get better MPG and my rear end isint gonna explode

The new V6 Mustangs run in the 13's, the new 5.0 I believe run 12's off the show room floor. It's best to stick to similar style cars as the Civic is as opposed to tackling muscle cars.

the thing about road racing is you cant do it as frequent and drag racing
tnt is every sunday at the local track and its only 10 bucks to get in

just add header and exhaust and flashpro and work on your driving and you should be pretty close

Best ive done so far was 14.91 @ 94mph with flashpro,injen cai,j35tb ,nst pulleys and e-tune. My elevation is around 800ft i believe . Best 60ft was 2.35, cant seem to improve it. Should i be running faster ?

Lol, a lurker for a couple of years and joined Jun 2011. Pretty fail. Stock SI I must say after all these years? lol.
