RED LIGHT!!! Good driving though. Just got work on your launch. Turn off VSA, rev to 6k or so, and dump the clutch. If you get wheel hop you should get new mounts as wheel hop can cause damage. This plus lots of practice. Peddling a car down the 1/4 mile is like an art form.
NOTE: Taking your car, or any car to it's limits will put additional wear on said car and is not recommended unless on an officially sanctioned track. Last edited by BlackSixSpeed; 04-08-2011 at 10:47 AM. |

The track's launch pad preparation also plays an important role in how well and how hard cars can launch. The launch area is usually prepped with traction compounds to add to the stickiness of the track. A well prepped track will definitely help drop 60 foot times and result in lower 1/4 mile times.
The best possible launch is obtained by obtaining the optimal balance of applying the most amount of power to the ground with the least amount of wheel spin. If too much power is applied during the launch and the tires spin, the resulting 60 foot time will be poor. The same goes for not applying enough power, thereby causing the car's engine to bog, and having the car limp off the line slowly. Improvements on the time it takes for the car to travel the first 60 feet down the track have significant implications on the final ET (estimated time). Hope this helps. |

I totally think we should all learn how to drag race on million dollar 3000 hp top fuel cars. They should be the only thing on the track.
Plus owners of drag strips are totally dumb for wanting to augment there income on off business days. Thanks for the input, now move along. |

15 seconds is slow indeed but doesn't really matter; if he wants to drag it then so be it.
I will say though that at our local track there was a 350 vs a 370 and they were both running mid 15's all day long but I didn't recommend that they go home though... |
