07' Civic Si vs. PT Cruiser (Turbo)

A guy i work with has a Pt Cruiser with the turbo (i think its the 06')...he told me tonight that he thinks my car looks great but he wants to know if i could take him at the track?

what do you guys think?

and im also wondering what my 07' Si can do in the 1/4 mile...

One way to find out... Go race!! It sounds like an easy kill, but I've learned to never underestimate the opponent...

The PT is faster than the SI with the right driver. Its the same thing of a SRT-4 but with a few more pounds.

Do the turbo PT's even come with a manual? I think all of the ones I've seen are autos. IIRC, they typically run low to mid 15's.

Sorry to dissapoint you and getting you off of that noob cloud but like the other guy said, our SI stills a Civic. An economic car with a stronger engine, not a true sport car.
Luckily the Honda Fit comes out and get the throne of the chippy-econo car but the Civic isn't far behind.

Like previously said typically they run mid-low 15's stock, but a few i have seen run in the 14's. Should be a drivers race, but you should win IMO. That is a nasty engine though but weight should kill his chances.

If I were you I'd get someone who knows about racing to show you the finer points of launching and shifting.

Well folks, I did race a PT GT. He pulled on me until my upper RPMS and 3rd I was pulling on him completely. He did have an auto, but their 2.4 Turbos do have a hell of a lot more torque. They're fast until 75km/h then they bog (due to gearing?)

I would call it BS racing... however; we can accommodate you in a legit race with a real GT or SRT4 if you like [www.srtforums.com].

Hmm...being a b-segment and c-segment fan, I am a skeptic if this was a race or a Chrysler GT Cruiser. Though, I haven’t heard of the 05 version with an auto since they are manuals.

These cars at worst a mid 14s car. However, by your claims I can see that there is an issue. Upper MPH range the cruiser will be beat out the SI model due to the gearing on the SI is used to counter the lack of torque and high strong. In the end when he is doing over 145-160MPH range, you still don’t stand a chance. .

However, if you feel I am wrong than we can arrange one of those embarrassing moments for you.

Honda Fit….against a lil’o Suzuki Swift GTi, who do you think would win? LOL

Old Honda owner here but never let people like this even post. We stop this type of posting even on the SRT FORUMS across its sibblings.

Drivers race or not....unlikely.
