SRT-4 Vs Fg2

Alright, so yesterday I was at this light, barely any cars, just minding my business. All of a sudden I see a black SRT-4 next to me, and he revd his engine, and man did his engine sound bad compared to my Fg2

, so anyways, I revd my engine, and damn I think I scared him. Anyways, were there waiting for the light to turn green. The light turned green and the srt-4 was keeping up to me, I shifted into 2nd and I was able to pass him by alot, and into 3rd he was falling behind, but then out of nowhere, damn if it wasnt for his damn turbo! But anyways, like I was saying, he just launched passed me like nothing but I was still keeping up, and we were about to pass some intersections so I decided to just stop because there was alot of police around that area, and I wanted to keep on going to see if my vtech would allow me to pass him, but I guess I can find out some other day.

But I was power shifting, and redline every gear, but as far as I know is that I was winning in the beginning, but after that, I only saw the back of his damn car were it saids SRT-4, damn turbos, but well, atleast it made me laugh abit, because those SRT-4 engines sound so bad compared to ours. Im sure ill see him again in the streets, and next time he wont win, cause I wont be running stock anymore.

You should drive one. Those SRT4's look like POS's and feel like POS's until you step on the gas. That's when the POS label fades away and becomes a "Holy SH!T!!!!!" label.

But bewilders me is that they're not putting AWD in the next SRT4. The lower Caliber gets an AWD option (based on a Mitsubishi platform). You'd think with 300hp Dodge would've put it in their SRT4. Oh well. Sucks for them.

yeah, stock for stock, the srt4 is going to pull you in a run. The turbo/hp/tq #s are to the advantage of the srt4. Vtec won't save you on that race.

i'm suprised you took him off the line. even with a little turbo lag those cars have good low end torque.

Yeah launching a stock SRT-4 is not joke. If its stock there so much wheel hop that some people broke there axes like that. Took me a while to master it and after changing to motor mounts i was able to race people from 0 to whatever (even beat a Evo from 0 - 120 and pass him on the end of my second gear). I will race 954K20_SI as soon as he puts his parts on his car and after I replace my cheap ass Korean tires and a bolt (also going back to stock boots) and I'm going to let U guys know what happens. (hopefully with a video)

well back in 2004 I didnt have enough money for a evo or the SI was not out (the good one). so I got the SRT-4 so I can have fun, and I did

i have money for both the evo and the si or the srt-4 but they dont sell them over here

so what i have to settle with the EX and pray someone comes with a turbo for my car

If u have the money u might as well wait for someone to crash a SI or buy a K20 full swap off Ebay, crate ship to Venezuela, buy a Cybernation turbo kit and u good to go. I meet some people in brazil that order Engines and parts of USA and got then ship to Brazil since they wanted a b18a2. u should look in to it

idk.. i have read alot about the way the srt 4s are built and they have to be maintaned in a certain way.. and idk.. someone explained it to me.. enough to turn me off to them

i have to change more than just engine.... i have to pay 35% import tax and also a turbo is a waste of money i did my calculations and it doesnt worth the money/effort i think i better wait for someone make the r18 turbo kit with 200~250whp im done

me too, thats why I decided to post it up, but he torn me apart other wise, but the good thing was that he wasnt fading away from me, he was ahead, but he wasnt far in front.

Why not build the motor BEFORE he adds more boost? Pistons, sleeves, rods, etc...they're all available for the Si.

If you're gonna do it, you may as well do it right.

because i doubt there is a good place here to do that kind of job... really and also if somethings happens to my car the k20z3 doesnt exist here... so thats a problem i rather preffer go turbo and if some one makes lower compression pistons and other parts i can put more boost :)

Lol maybe after u learn how to drive your car then maybe

wneddanc . But I wont say anything right now because it can't be proven. But if u do get to turbocharge your car then it would be a cool race. But u have to beat Joey's (Evolution 8) before coming for me

WOooooow. Where to begin..

First off, you own an SI but yet you dont know the difference between vtec and vtech!? Thats pretty embarrasing. And this is just my personal opinion, but I think the srt-4 sounds mean as hell completely stock.

Second, "and I wanted to keep on going to see if my vtech would allow me to pass him" Thats just a load of nonsense. Vtec engagement is NOT nitrous.. I dont understand why you'd think that when you hit 5800 rpm you're magically going to pass up a car thats lighter and has 50 more whp. You gotta know the limits of your car man.

Finally, "Im sure ill see him again in the streets, and next time he wont win, cause I wont be running stock anymore." I hate to rain on your parade, but the only way you're gonna keep up with an srt-4 is if you have i/h/e and hondata reflash (which hasnt come out yet) - given that you're both equally skilled drivers.

By the way, this is coming from an owner of an 06 si..

I know what the car is capable of, and stock for stock/mod for mod the srt will always win in straight line acceleration.
