Question how to launch

I'm back in the Honda family with the ne SI seadan, and it just hit 2000 miles(I love to drive it). I went to a back road to try some 1-4 and I just couldn't get a good start.

So my question is whats a good RPM to launch at without bogging and I'm not sure if it will allow wheel spin at all but I don't wanna spin too much.

Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

i used to do that but he wants minimum wheel spin and unless u know how to play with the gas/clutch launching that high would just create too much wheel spin.

i also practiced launching saturday night....and the road was blacktop and i was at first launching at about 3k and i kept bogging..so i kept going higher and higher..and found out on blacktop that 4500k was good...i had minimum wheel spin and launched real hard out of the hole.

bogging meaning you stalled or lagged in the rpms? 3k is fine. between 3-4k is the best. i think you were just letting off the clutch to quick and not accelerating through. keep it steady at 3,5k have it on first already ready to launch..when launching release the clutch quickly but not just take your foot off...you will be peeling tires a little but when you start feeling tracking step on it hard. It all depends on your clutch skill...youll learn your cars specs and clutch and everything about it with time..btu hopefully with this peice of info it might help

thanks you guys one thing i didnt try was turning off the vsa and launching. Im thinking that it would allow more power to the wheels, am i correct i never had any type of "safty" program before. but would the VSA stop the wheels from spinning by reducing power.

i found it best to launch the SI from a hair under 3500rpm. Feather the clutch ever so slowly, dont slam the gas all the way in till about 5krpm or till you feel that youve got traction. when i drove it the car didnt seem to like power shifting into 2nd. But then again i still wasnt experiaced driving it, the sales man wouldnt let me continue my experimentation.

Just you.. Trust me when VSA interrupts your driving it'll tell you it is (the sign.. DUH) and You will damn sure feel it.

i think VSA is only additional traction when taking a turn. that it has nothing to do with a launch..correct me if im wrong. When taking a turn pretty fast VSA kicks in and reduces your speed so you wont eat shit..its like our helical type LSD, only in the turns
