I thought in our cars it would be easier no? I guess not. I just don't want to deal with the piggyback O2 sensor bs because I'm too mechanically illiterate.

Harder, everything has to be done from underneath and hard as hell to get the stock header off. plus you gotta take off that stupid cowl by the window. as for the o2 sensor it really easy just follow this diy. http://www.k-series.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8833

Now that is out of the way, my friend at work keeps on bugging me that his Civic would take mine. We will be taking this to an actual 1/4 mile race track (street legal races) at Ashcroft, BC in the Spring.

His car
1990 Civic DX
B16A 160hp / 111 ft.lbs (15.2 lbs per hp)
VTEC controller
CAI
2200lbs
with this combination, should do 0-60 in 7.6 (conceptcarz.com)

My car
2007 Civic Si
K20Z3 197hp / 138 ft.lbs (14.6 lbs per hp)
Typhoon SRI intake
Magnaflow SS (by Spring)
2800 lbs

His car goes pretty good for it's size. Remember it's the power-weight ratio that is important. He has a 600lb advantage.

Anyone know? How can I put this to rest?

Ok brah you got an advantage, just do not make no mistakes and you'll get him. The colder your engine the better. Remove any excess weight from your car. I mean everything (Spare tires, tools, etc). Some people go with at least three bars in thier gas tanks for less weight. They travel with a 5 gallon container of gas to fuel after the races. Hope this help bra. Go get him!! Let us know how it went. Good props for not street racing brah.

Do you guys even realize what you are saying half of the time? Do you just pull facts out of your ass to try to make your car sound that much better? In a real world the hatch has a HUGE weight advantage and it's going to be quicker than you think. An Si may have 50hp more but it has 600lbs to go with it too.

And for God's sakes I cannot believe you are trying to pull factual data about a car from a website and NOT FROM THE CAR.

Some of you Si owners are about the most pathetic car owners I have ever come across.
Come on man, whats all the hostility, instead of getting all out of control, lets help our buddy here and give him the support that we need. He asked us for our opinion, not discouragement. your profile says your an Si owner, why dont you throw in a little of your experience and help each other out. Remember this forum is for 8th Generation Civic, lets be positive here brah.

my 2000 si had a 'ghetto' crush bent exhaust, competch 4-2-1 and a AEM CAI(winces @ that one)... I put down 139whp on a mustang 250 dyno and 99FtLbs pretty avg numbers for a stock to basic bolt-on B16a2. I say race him and see. I think you have an advantage but it will come down to driver skill and any errors you guys make.

Have fun

Rwatters, who's pulling facts from their ass? Your hostile post is like verbal diarrahea to me right now. Go eat a banana and get back to me when you feel better.

I'm not saying my Si is the fastest bloody car on the planet. I have a 72 Torino 400hp street machine that will rock all of yours and my Si combined, doing high 12's in the 1/4.

I know what power is, I drive 07 Vette Z06's all the time. I drive Vipers GTSs, RT-10s, XLRs, SS Tahoes, SSRs, 1970 442's with 510 ft lbs TQ, 71 SS 454's, all day!

My Honda is a Smart Car compared to these real-world supercars.

What am I getting at? Why are we the most pathetic car owners around? Go f*ck yourself, go hang out on a BMW 3 series forum and see how proud they are. We are just proud owners. You must be a very angry owner/leaser.

Man do I ever hate Si-haters, and YOU EVEN OWN ONE.

Go trade in your Si for an R18, figures that an R18 has the word R for race, you can bash the Si all day in that 120whp monster!

yea man a race header does make that noticable difference.in performance, sound, and smell..lol..hence no cat..but yea it is a bia bia to install by yourself..the hardest thing is taking the factory exaust manifold off and the bolts connecting the cat to the midpipe...the bolts on the e-manifold are bitches especially the ones one the far left side from the top of the car..but yea man i got mine for 380 on ptuning.com..no problems at all..just cel...but thats what happens when you go cat-less..all you need to do to make it go away is get a defouler at any auto place for like 4 bucks and booya problem fixed

couldnt have said it better myself man..did you see how hostile he got after my comments..dude i mean if anybody is wrong go ahead and correct but not get all stupid doo doo dumb! shoot..He's prolly not an si owner or atleast he has no pride and faith in his ride...but bout the race seriously dude you should own him..you dont even need to take out no tire no nothin...ya he does have a v-tech controller so who knows were he has it programed..but the k20 does have more hp and tq and does redline like 85-8600<--(i know that bc i have in mine. for rwatters who thinks i pull data out of my ass with a ass data remover) so ya youll be accelerating faster and your redline will be longer so while he might be a gear ahead due to his redline you will be ahead of him elongating your rpm's..i dont remember if your stock or not..stock it should be a good race..i/h/e youll pull him..good luck mayn and let us know
