That's good to hear. Sounds like you'll do just fine for the season. What are you running for autocross?
I've been autocrossing for over a year now, have yet to hit Hallett up though. It's definitely on my to-do list for this summer, just a HST for a day. It taunts me every time I drive home from Stillwater to Bartlesville on the side of the turnpike. Let me know if you're at Hallett for a weekend, I'd love to come see the car. |

Here on pg. 522-525 of the document, you will find all of the cars that are in the class: SSB Rules Tires specs - Well, there are about 4 or 5 types of tires that people will run, all of them will be a "road race" compound. Sometimes it is a personal preference and I am bias towards Hoosiers because I like them. Others are Kumho, Hankook, BFG, and Toyo. Alignment - As much negative camber in the front as you can (I have been told on stock HFP susp with the crash bolts, 2 degrees can be obtained) and then depending on the car, you would usually want a little toe out. I will not be driving this on the street, so I can go extreme on the settings. Last edited by theman631; 03-19-2010 at 02:18 PM. Reason: sp |

What a fabulous build thread. Quite interesting to see what is needed to spec the car out to SSB. I wish you all the best in your racing endeavors this year. It is great to have someone from 8th Gen reppin' us in the series. Make us proud bro! BTW, may make it to Elkhart Lake. I might look you up if I am there.

It was getting a little lonely posting and posting with no responses, I will be posting links to videos and stuff as the season progresses. I have my 8th Civic sticker for the rear window, time to show the class what the Honda can do!

There are people who here who love road racing more than drag racing although we are outnumbered. Superbike81, Mattsbobo, JRotax101, RWaters all come to mind. Once you have road raced, drag racing seems so tame in comparison. Both require skill, but there is something about clipping apexes, downshifting, braking and accelerating out of turns that is oh so much more fun. I can only imagine what it would be like to drive at Elkhart Lake. I have been going there since 1970.

Thanks everyone. There will be a lot of work going on in the next couple days on it. I have all the decals made, should be putting them on the car Thursday. Need to get all the interior put back together and have the belts, extinguisher, tow strap, and Apexi exhaust installed by Saturday night. Then I will have the car on display at our Milwaukee Region Open House where I will also have the car tech'd
My parents were autocrossers and my uncle is a road racer, so I started to autocross at 16 and I did well so I was asked to instruct at age 17. Got into road racing at age 20 but didn't have the cash to win. It was a hard lesson to learn, but talent is not enough to win in racing. Car prep is probably worth a little more than talent and to properly prep a car can be expensive. In 2003 I ran Pro Spec Miata and a properly built race engine was $4500, imagine trying to win in a car that is worth $4500 total! This time I am doing it right with RaceLabz and spending whatever money it takes to make the car all it can be
