Si vs Redline?

Anyone have any info on this? A person I know wants to race me with his stock redline, all I have is intake and exhaust.

They dyno anywhere from 200-245 stock. The average LSJ dyno is around 215 in stock form.

NA vs. FI = Not Fair. I'd say get a SC and race him, it would be fair enough. Or remove the Redlines SC.

Well my best friend is planning on buying an Ion Redline so i hear about the car all the time and probibly read as many reviews about it as the Si, well not that much lol, and i have went on a test drive with him. I belive that the Ion Redline was under rated from the factory. The car regularly dynos around 215 whp, witch means that the engine hp probibly should have been rated at around 245 hp. Depending on the driver, and this is a huge thing because the car is very hard to launch due to the massive amount of instant tourqe delivered from the supercharger, I have seen stock 1/4 time s range from 14.3 to 15.5. ussually around a 14.5 to a 14.7 though. Yes the Si does handle much better from what I have seen. But on a strait line 2 good drivers, it would be close but you would probibly loose. And to the comment about taking away the ions supercharger, in that case you would need to take away the Si's i-VTEC, then it be even again and it would still be about the same race. Ahh that was to long, hope it helps though.

Well I'm planning on putting a 75 shot of NOS in within the next two weeks, so I think I could take him easily with that.

It is never a fair race when one car is all motor and another forced induction wait. the car stock dynoes at about 212 which is about 20 hp more than youe car. A few bolt ons and you should be able to hang intake exhaust headers reflash hondata heatshield gasket. If only they made a kpro for the SI we could get the TSX cams with our intake manifold that would be sweet. but yea as of now he will beat you no need to worry you have an all motor car that is still quick

The Ion Redline is not in this article but the Cobalt SS/SC is, pretty much the same car. The Cobalt leaves the Si and GTI in its dust! Thoughts to why?

I think it would be a good race with your boltons, probably a drivers race. The redline weights about 100 more lbs than the Si, but the rear wheel drive will give him a good hole shot.
