Any race is a driver's race. Don't matter how fast the car goes, if the person don't have balls to take it to the limit, you won for sure.

Did you get that quote from a f&f movie?

It has nothing to do with "balls". Obviously in a race your going to "take it to the limit". I can't say i've ever seen anyone shifting at 4k when racing.

It all simply comes down to who can launch better. Shifting isn't a difficult thing to master. Missing 3rd will happen from time to time when you first start out but after some practice it won't even be a worry. Launching and reaction time is what determines win/loss. Their also the two hardest things to master. And you can't really "teach" someone how to race better, it's all about feel. The only way his friend will become a better racer is the more he/she practices. You can't teach someone how to not miss 3rd gear.

Why? Throwing a I/E and SS on your car doesn't automatically make the winner of this race the thread owner. It'll still be a driver's race.

Besides, his friend was mentioned to often miss gears when driving agressive. I wouldn't let someone who drives like that drive my car.
