Shameless plug ahead...
Well, the NNJR-SCCA autocross season points battle ended this past weekend. I emerged as the PRO class champion after a close battle all season against other National-caliber drivers like myself. I also took the overall Drivers Championship (which is based on PAX rankings, SCCA people will understand this). http://www.autox4u.com/2006results/2006nnjr.htm Either way, I look forward to 2007 and beyond. A belated congrats, Mr. Mario! I started auto-xing my Civic this year and I know that you had just as much, if not more fun than I did! I think you need to start running divisionals next year and point for the finals in Topeka. What kind of tires are you running? What are you using for shocks?

I actually run at least 2 National level events each year! I took 2nd in HS at the Devens National Tour and 3rd in HS at the DC ProSolo. Topeka is VERY difficult for me to ever attend as I am a 10 year veteran high school teacher. If I were to take a week off in September after being off for two months in the summer, I'd get slaughtered! It won't get any better once I earn my Masters in Ed. Administration and get a principal's seat somewhere. Believe me I want to go to Kansas... I have ever since I started autocrossing in 1994. But I chose a profession that makes anything in September almost impossible. As for the car, I use a 225/50/16 V710. EVERYONE says the new Hoosier A6 is faster by a few tenths, but until Hoosier can build a tire that'll last as long for the money as the V710's did, I'll stick with Kumho. I got over 15 events (125 runs) out of my V710's before I got cord. Granted, the grip wasn't as high by the time I reacher the 75 run mark, but the National events took place right when the tires were at their sweet spot (about 40-50 runs, just like the A6) any events after that were irrelevant to me, so to speak, as contingency money wasn't involved. As for shocks... Anthony "Mario" Crea NNJR-SCCA |
