Fully built F20C1 making over 300rwhp N/A. I've cleaned, decked, and had iron sleeves installed. I went with Arias forged 13.5:1 pistons with deep valve reliefs, sleeves bored/honed to pistons. Full floating DLC coated piston pins sized to pistons, factory F20C crank straightened, balanced, and now polished. My crank, rods, pistons, front pulley, and clutch/flywheel are all balanced together. All new bearings, oil pump, oil squirters, I upgraded my oil squirter bolts, chains, tensioner, rod and main bolts, gaskets, etc. My head is fully Ported and Polished by a previous professional race engine builder. Stainless steel BC valves and retainer kit designed for high rpm's. (Car use to see 10,200rpm) TODA Spec C cams, TODA adjustable cam gears. Bosch 282lph fuel pump, AEM fuel rail and FPR. NGKR7433 spark plugs. Rick's 4.57R's gears matted with a carbon fiber driveshaft and an Exedy Hyper clutch to make sure both tires get the power down. All done on stand alone management. Not to mention a little weight reduction. Race weight is 2592lbs. Okay, I've watched enough that you can barely hang/beat an Integra, old ass vette, evo, srt4 etc. Doesn't prove you're "much quicker" than 13.5 - any of those stock I would expect a mid 13 second car to pull/stay with as you did. Still doesn't show prove the "much quicker" comment as you stated.
Show a timeslip - maybe it's in the vid (which is nice btw), but I'm not watching all 11 mins of it. |

I haven't raced the car down a drag strip or on the street for about 3 years now. That video is a old video and when the car was only basic bolted on. For the better part of the 3 years now I've been circuit track and auto crossing my s2000 and turned it into pretty much strictly a track car, seeing as that is where it's strongest points are. Thus the G35 for a daily driver.
But it still didn't change the fact that the car was running 13.1@105 with only I/E/H, a clutch kit and gears in a straight line well before I even built the motor. Clearly faster then your SI. You're right. It's one thing to speculate how quick your car is with certain said mods, another to actually run the times. But drag racing to me got boring after a while. At least since I was going after being one of the faster all motor s2000's. There really wasn't a point. I completely changed the set-up and have been loving life in the corners ever since. And I never said my car was the fastest car out there. I was simply amused by you thinking your all motor SI is this all mighty mid 13 second car. Last edited by ILikeToRev; 09-09-2009 at 11:26 PM. |
