I guess reliability means a little more to us while their stock SC and torque mean more to them. That's fine. Everyone has their own reasons for buying a car.

So, let's look at some facts real quick.

06 Civic Si - 197hp All Motor
06 Ion Redline - 205hp Turbocharged (pulled from Saturn website)

The redline is making 8hp more at the crank WITH A SUPERCHARGER and these guys are trying to say its a superior motor. Obviously not or it would be making a lot more hp with the supercharger. Yes, or course it has more torque, but that's gonna happen when you supercharge a motor.

Even with the supercharger, it still costs less than an Si, because it's a piece of $hit. Yes, your Saturn is faster than my car stock but that's only due to the fact that it's supercharged, it has nothing to do with the motor.

In the end of the day, you guys are still driving a SATURN, which until recently have been complete pieces of shit. Honda's have been great cars for years.

Sorry if I offended any Saturn owners, but you can't come around here talking shit and not hear some yourself.
oh no my civic friend you see ive owned hondas. now heres how i look at it hondas are nice good reliable cars but they're not american. if lets say tomorrow dodge or some one domestic bought honda then id own a honda. but they never will and it will never happen so ill never own a honda again. im very patriotic and i dont believe in buying a forign car unless one of the big 3 is making most of the profits from the sale of the car and parts.

your talking about an all out race car if you want to go there jason whitfield of whitfield racing has a 1,000 WHP cobalt. the GM build book shows how to take the ecotec up to 1,400 hp while being as reliable as possible.

That's understandable. At least you gave a good reason for owning a Saturn over a Honda. If you think about it though, you're putting more money in some rich white guy's bank account and I am putting money in a rich Japanese guys bank account. Neither of us are going to ever see any of that money. If it has to do with supporting our economy, I promise you the economy would be the same if you would have bought a Japanese car as opposed to a domestic.

Also, I wouldn't buy a car (or any product for that matter) just because it is American when a foreign company makes a similar car or product that I like more.

I am not going to boycott the PS3 just cuz it's Japanese and get an XBOX360 to support American made stuff. The owner's of these companies aren't going to be affected by me buying or not buying their products.

OK, maybe that's not the same thing, but you get my point.

my big thing is at least buying an american car more of that money will be redistributed amongst the american economy more so then buying a honda. but your right either way its making a select few people super rich.

ah well nuf said.

All the arguing and one thing can be said after I read through both threads. It pretty much seems to be a drawl. Whether you all are arguing over horsepower, torque or driving skills. Some of you Cobalt/Redline guys are cool. You're thread is just like ours etc. It's nice to see owners of other makes and models on here to add a twist to things. I'd hate to see you go so everyone Redline, Cobalt and Si alike stop bickering please.

It's just tacky.

To sum it all up, ss always wins on ss forums and the si always wins on the si forums.

Yeah, if you like the water, you'll definetly be happy in MD. And check back in at redlineforums too. If you're close to Pittsburgh, there's a few of us there, both modded and stock. Just when you go back there, beware of the mod spOOner, he takes no shit at all cause we get a ton of trolls all the time, and I don't want to see you guys go. I have a feeling after we get to know each others cars, we will have new-found respect for one another. Peace peeps.

Jason Whitfield is a bad ************ with unlimited money at disposal for his cars. His cobalt pushing that much hp is also a complete overhaul, I watch the speed channel too.
I noticed that he had another cobalt that was pushing a little less hp but was completely covered by warrenty from gm. That, I am 100% envious of and I don't even have an si.

I agree with what you were saying in this post.. but for the record.
xbox360 pwns ps3. It doesn't make sense because the ps3 isn't even out yet, and has better tech behind it. But I heart 360. End of story.

And now I would like to nominate the following quote for funniest shit I've read in a while.
