it all depnds for what u buy with the $3500.
if u get the greddy kit for that price...then i agree with u.
if u have the mods on my car for that price...i don't agree with u...

for $3500 u can get a small turbo(greddy) or a nice garrett dual ball bearing turbo of good size and add the rest of the piping and everything else u need in there and be over 400 whp @ about 11 psi and destroy an SRT running MORE psi than u...why? cuz we make more power at lower psi than they do, lighter car, a lot better gearing, more top end etc etc...both cars will suffer from huge amounts of wheel hop...
and i'm not talking about Si here cuz i've yet to see one like that run a srt-4....but i've seen countless RSX-S destroy modded srt-4s...type S kinda = current Si...it's a beauty to rev ur turbo honda to 8500 rpm also :)

so it's all kinda relative.

i think i can take out a modded srt-4 right now...i don't know...
i have a nice custom all japanese turbo kit on my car :)...and it's been generously estimated @ about 360whp...i think about 300whp would be my estimate...

a srt 4 can push over 275hp with just free mods. add a boost controller good exhaust, bigger fuel pump, and a good tune and you have a mid to low 12 sec car. and no.... you cant take a stock srt4 with a stock si, i d bet on that race, i ve seen srt4 with minor mods killing mildly modded mustang gts and if you think you si is gonna do that.... you are mistaken.

holy shit the si isn't a drag racer! Neither is the cobalt! its like running in the special olympics folks! Stop flexing your balls! You want to talk power for your dollar go grab a minivan! Thats right you can pick up an 80s turbo minivan for about $1k then put a boost controler and some mods on it and be pulling over 300hp for less than 2k investment, so I guess thats the best car ever. Holy shit.

Tell me you didn't expect us to throw in the towel and say we have slow cars and tend to lose every race.

You'll get the same reaction with any forum you go to. I know I can't take on the world with my Si, but I know that when all the srt4's and cobalt ss' are done trying...they'll all be blown and sittin' at the dealership waiting for a new motor...while I'll be hittin' 8K on a daily basis still. Just my opinion though.

Why you people make the srt4 come out like a god? Those cars are quick, and the way they can make insane torque is awesome.. But im on a small 75shot and still have yet to loose to one..

You may say yours is "fast", but show some slips at least into the low 13's or some dynos at least at 250 whp/200 tq then i will believe you. I don't know about you guys, but "estimating" numbers doesn't cut it on other forums or any other place for that matter

and just for the record, i have beaten 2 SRT-4's, and countless 99-04 Mustang GT's....stock to lightly modded. One srt was stock, the other had mopar st 1, boost controller, intake/exhaust...raced him from dig came out 1/2 car ahead at 90 mph, and rolled 40-100, came out a fender ahead

i went to the track for the first time and ran a 14.3 with NO traction. i trapped over 101 mph.... unclesid posted the slips or videos

and 06 SI, no mags did not rate the cobalt at .1 sec faster. Road and Track and Car and Driver rated the Si at 15.0 and 15.1. They rated the SS at 14.6 and 14.8.

The cobalt beat the SI in the slalom (handling) by .1 second. the cobalt won in braking also, however the si did better roadholding with more G's
