Okay, that's ONE Chevy I'd buy over a Honda.

The older I've gotten, the more important of a role potential re-sale value plays in my ultimate decision to buy a car. I would almost go to the point where it's in the top 3 criteria...for me at least.

Vette? Pretty much a no-brainer. Cobalt? You can have IT and your upside down loan.

ok guys lets set a couple things straight...the ss/sc cobalt will beat an SI, 0-60, 1/4, and top speed. However, the SI WILL beat a cobalt 2.4 SS NON-supercharged. And also, the boost from a supercharger is instantaneous, it doesnt "kick in" in fourth gear, you get boost in all 5 gears, and also, SRT-4's DO have a turbo.

The stock Cobalt SS Supercharged w/LSD was running 15.3 at the track 2 weekends ago. My time was 15.2 on all seasons. Might be a bad driver but that's what I saw.

I believe that, SS vs. Si could go either way.

I would have to disagree with everything u just said, except for the part about the boost kicking in.

like sickyute said i ran one last week like three times and it was my friend driving my car with me in the passenger seat. and the cobalt had a passenger also. ran from 2nd gear out of vtec (4800rpms) we both punched it at the same time he jumped on us but when the vtec kicked in he stopped pulling by the time we threw 4th we had him by a fender by the end of 4th it was half a car. threw 5th then slowed down. happened two times like that.

you guys do know that must ss/sc's run mid to high 14's right? and there have been stock ss/sc's as low as 14.1. I'm not saying all ss/sc's are faster than all si's.. And i'm not doubting you guys have beaten some of them. But please, don't over inflate the SI. It is bout 180 whp, and the SS is about 210... not to mention the 0-60 for the SS is 6.1 seconds

ok ok, im not knocking the SS/SC but just because they have faster 1/4 mile time and a 0-60does not mean that they are faster. the SC gives u instant power which is why those times r better. but top end it's not so good. maybe the gearing or something is holding it back because top end the SI has it hands down. oh and my SI put down 199whp & 150lbtq (stock), so i don't know where ur getting this 180 stuff.

i test drove a cobalt ss supercharged today and didnt think much of it, even the salesman was telling me my civic was a better car and i would be a fool if i was thinking about trading it in.

In stock form, comparing speed...
2.0L Cobalt SS/SC > Civic Si > 2.4 L Cobalt SS

Althought the Civic > Cobalt in feel. :)

14.1 stock, thats pretty crazy.. There was a guy that said he got to 14.1 with an intake or some shit like that on an si, but I still don't believe him... Well w.e... Point is Si>SS in every way, except that I would love to have some sort of stock FI... And available leather seats...

I've raced ss' and the redlines.... and never got beat by one, until the guy in the cobalt changed his pulley...

Whats funny is that all of the cars that are compared to the Si either are supercharged or turboed. If I do remember the Si is ALL ENGINE.

I know, to me it is a damn good feat to have to be put up against turbo and superchargers because nothing else out there can even come close to touching our Naturally Aspirated Engines.
GTI w/dsg vs Si w/forced induction would be no contest....
SS/SC Cobalt vs Si w/fi once again no contest.......
