Race Related Rules: Read before posting

In an attempt to clean up the race related forum, 8thcivic will no longer be allowing posts concerning “kill stories”. Kill stories are NOT welcome in the race related area. This area is for legal track racing or autocrossing posts only.

Street racing posts will be deleted and the users posting these types of threads will be warned.

Failure to stop posting such threads will result in acct termination.

there is a spot within the vip area for "kill stories" if you'd like to call it that. This keeps it out of view from trolls on other forums. The race area here is for legal track racing or autox.

I know I am in the minority on this, but YAY! The less DA street racing posts, the better.

We're just trying to avoid disrespectful posts as much as possible. The street race threads seemed to be chock full of people who log on and post just to flame one another. That's not cool. We also don't condone street racing. If you want to race, do it safe and legally.

VIP members are opting to pay a premium, so they get additional benefits, one being that they can post just about anything they want in the VIP section.

For example, if I made a post in the VIP area about killing a WRX in the street, an avid member of a WRX forum wouldn't be able to post that all Civic owners drive a POS and suck ass because it wouldn't be worth it to pay the membership money to do so. And thus that also keeps members from this site from lashing back. It doesn't mean that other VIP members wouldn't flame me though. Please note that this is not the only reason why street racing posts aren't permitted in the free section. If you really want to post your street racing threads for free, there are plenty of other forums and blogs that support those stories.

Well, anyhow I hope you understand why we want to keep the stories out of the free section.

most likely not, (i dont post any kill stories) but it feels like once again the "MAN" is trying to silence us. what ever happend to the first amendment.

The forum rules aren't really set in stone and some are made up as we go along. We certainly don't want to censor what you say since you have a right to free speech, but we also want to keep the integrity of the site at a high level.

I suppose the caveat to the Water Cooler section is that it's the section for everything that's not car related. Racing cars would be car related. :rolleyes: I dunno...I do support the admins decision to go the route that was chosen though. (I'm such a good little mod-noob

)

The water cooler is not a free for all post area where anything can be posted. Note there is no porn or other ill advised content in there.

And the last time I looked - street racing is illegal and dangerous. I know there are members out there that have witnessed first hand crashes, and even death related to street racing. Two people from my home town just recently died while street racing.

If you want to talk about racing - feel free. Just talk about how you ran at the track, or the auto x track where it's legal.

I'd like to have an exemption to the rule, however. If folks have a story wherein something horrible happened as a result of street racing (death, maiming, loss of all sexual function, etc.) then I say 'yes please'. If a single fool's mind is changed, it would be worth it.

most of you known me for being an ass, argue manica, and stupid kid,. but please don't take away my happiness... posters always or new member always look at the kills first, then search for a new interesting threads...
like me i got member here becoz when i search for 06 si vs ? i got this site and when its interesting so i singed up .. i always read TOV,club si,and rsx forum but i just read and cant relate in there... this is the only forum that iv'e been diggin all day.. see this- me- sleep,8thcivic eat,shower,8thcivic,play tokyo racer drift,8thcivic,work (8thcivic) go home,go to school,8thcivic and sleep again. and i do enjoy reading street,kill racing stories...but i know lately they r posting stupid kills and ended up arguing insted but that does'nt mean you have to ban or close it....but you guys have the authority so i won't argue with it.. kill stories and street racing stories strarts everything.

you guys should ban post like.
1. SRT-4 comment that the SI can't beat it or brining it up on every argument about whos better...
2. post like " what if id put more money on the si" i bet ill beat evo,sti,350z etc etc,.
3. SI vs.non si-class car ,"that car is not worth for the money" SI is better than that car...

i know im not a help on this site, but dont take other people's heppiness.
