Making it sound like it? He was running 15.5 which IS competitive with all the times i've seen. Good thing he's not turbo any more or he'd blow that time away. The tC isn't as bad as you think. What have you run in YOUR car? You talk the talk pretty damn good but I have yet to see you walk the walk...

tCs don't even dare to come next to me @ lights ![]() QUOTE] Actually, im the boyfriend that is spoken of. And if you really wanna compare times and try to talk crap about a tc, maybe you 2 should be the ones doing some research. I run 15.4 with my stock tc on stock tires. (only mod is axle back exhaust, which if either of you 2 know anything about cars i might of gained a whopping 1-2 hp from it). A SI is SUPPOSED to run a high high 14-low 15 stock. but generally you see most people running anywhere from the low 15s to low 16s with a stock SI, which is on par with stock times for a tc. The reason being is that the tc has more torque than horsepower (161hp 163lb/ft of torque at the crank) and the SI is, how can i say, lacking in the torque area. So the tc will naturally pull a couple cars at least off the launch on a SI, but the SI SHOULD walk the TC back down on the top end of the track. The only place that a SI would shine against any tc would be from a roll, never from a dig because the SI just doesnt have the torque to pull as hard from a stand still. And if anyone still disagrees with me, i will be more than happy to meet anyone at the track and prove it to them. Also, if anyone wants to talk about F/I, a turbo tc is still on par with a turbo si. When my tc was turbocharged i ran 13.3 at the track on a 90 degree day with 72% humidity and spinning through 1st and 2nd like usual (so on a cooler day with less humidity times woulda been much quicker), and that was on stock tires, stock engine and stock clutch. I dynoed 248hp and 258tq. That was also on a very very conservative tune, was at 10.5A/f ratio. Coulda gotten way more power outta it but chose not to. And easily coulda been in the 12s with Drag Radials or Slicks... Last edited by BlitzBlue1032; 07-04-2008 at 02:33 PM. |

Oh, and dont for a second think that im bashing the SI in any way because im not, i actually love the new SI and would love to own one. Im just simply setting the facts straight between an SI and a TC, i would do the same even if it wasnt a car that i own.

A blue Evo VIII on pass time on speed channel ran a 12.4 with 420WHP. doubtful any "bad driver" will obtain anything close. It's All about the driver in certain instances. That made me change my mind about getting an EVO. I'd rather boost my FG2 on 10psi instead of 22psi and run better times |

YouTube - Si vs. xA
Watch that video and that will prove my point to you. That is a very good friend of mines XA that is the camera car, running against a stock SI. His XA is fairly close in numbers compared to my TC. Almost same horsepower and torque ratings (his XA has about 10 less horsepower and torque) and we run almost identical in the 1/4 mile. Only difference is his car weighs roughly 2200 pounds and the TC weighs roughly 3100. As you can see he pulled about 3+ cars on the SI off the line. I dont even need to go any further. A 1/4 mile drag race comes down to who can get off the line first and fastest(if the power rating are somewhat similiar). You may run a 15.0 and i run a 15.4, but if i beat you off the line by .3-.4 tenths of a second then your going to have one hell of a time running me back down before that finish line. And thats not even factoring in the reaction time. One thing i havent mentioned yet though is it also depends on the driver. Im sure you did beat the tc and the rabbit when you raced them, as you should have. But i guarntee that its because the driver of the tc did not launch the car correctly(im assuming yall raced from a dig). If you launch the tc anything above 2500-3000rpms your either going to light em up through 1st or just bog so badly that you might as well just have lit em up. And im not saying that the tc is a race car by any means because its not. But we are comparing the tc to the si right now. Another thing that i bet you didnt know is that a tc is geared very very low. 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear in a tc are very short torqey gears, but toyota might as well not even put a 4th or 5th gear in our car because they are about as useless as a poopie flavored lollypop (sorry i had 2). ^^dude dont worry, TC owners are full of SH*T. They think just because they race someone that cant drive a car for anything and beat them, that they own the street. A guy that works at my Honda dealership thinks he can own my Si. OOOoHHHH and guess what, He has a TC.

I live in Canada and there are no TC's up here, alot of people import the xb's but I have only seen one tc in person in my life and he was from the states lol I actually love the look of the car and its funny looking at TC VS SI threads. Motor to motor si wins , take your fastest stock tc on your boards against our fastest stock and whats the outcome?
