Englishtown Raceway Park Autocross 7/8/06

Hope to see some of you guys out there for this weekend's Autocross at Englishtown. This will be my first autocross since I bought the SI.

For those of you that has never autocross before, I would at least suggest that you come out and watch. It is free to watch providing that you get there before 9:30 AM and enter through gate 4. Autocrossing is an enjoyable and extremely safe type of racing. If you want to discover the true handling limit of your car whort of going to the track, autocross is for you. The fee is $40 per driver if you want to compete.

I will be there with my Fiji blue civic SI. I'm running the car completely stock without even an alignment. As far as tires, II will be running 245-45-17 khumo v710 race tires up front and 225-45-17 khumo victoracer in the rear. There is no special reason as to why I'm running smaller and less grippier tires in the rear, I have them already, and I just wanted to go through them before I get a new set:)

Hope to see you guys/gals out there.

- Jay

Lock and loaded for tomorrow:)

I found that 245 45 17 fits perfectly if you have the stock suspension. The Khumo v710s are an unusual 245. They look more like 255.

Yes, you will need a helmet. The club typically have loaner helmets laying around especially for novices.

Thumbs up NNJR Autocross

Nice job Jay! Very, very good showing for your first time out in the new Si Coupe... However, you'll need to find more time before you beat my LX Coupe in either raw time or PAX! I'm sure you'll find the time once you align it.

A whole .029 separated us on raw time, but as I told you, GS needs to be almost 3/4 of a second quicker than HS on a sixty second course and that explains why I ended up almost .6 ahead of you in PAX on this 40 second course.

See you on the 22nd.

i have never been to an auto-x event but man I wish I would get my act together and go. I find it a little surprising that there wasn't a SINGLE VW, especially GTI's, in that list.

Thank you Sir:)

I have to say that I'm very impress with the way the SI handled overall. You're absolutely right in saying that the alignment will get the job done. The car was very well compose in the slalom and I believe this is where I was the fastest. I just need to stop hitting those damn cones:).

Congrats once again on clinching third in PAX. I have some catching up to do. I'm going to give the hoosier A6 a try on the 22nd and will run the v710s in the rear. With a little more runs and just overall getting used to the SI, we should be able to make top 5 PAX everytime.

Nice driving Anthony:)

There was a new GTI there, but he was approx 4 sec behind Anthony and myself.
