They make a tool that will push the pin out but you can achieve the same thing by using a flathead screwdriver and pushing it out.

Yes, you're not bypassing it. Blue connector from harness unit often means antenna.

I just installed my D3 in my '08 Si coupe. I used this thread as a guide together with the instructions from PAC's website. Everything went well and I have no issues with sound/video/bypass or anything. I already had 2 12" subs with an amp installed on my factory sound system. I decided to keep the stock sub connected along with the stock amp, so I am using both the stock and my aftermarket amp and it sounds great. My system is not hooked up with RCA at all, at least not behind the radio. I think the shop that installed my subs and amp did all the wiring using my rear speakers. Thank God, I was hoping they didn't cut up any of the Honda wiring behind the radio.

The minor complications that came up are:

I had to lightly sand the Scosche dash kit in the area where the a/c controls go. I sanded around the edges because the buttons would get stuck when I pushed them. Very light sanding corrected this.

The other complication was with the GPS antenna. I placed it behind the radio as mentioned in this thread but I got no signal and the D3 claimed the antenna wasn't connected. I instead passed the wire through my door sill and panel in the rear and placed it just next to the right-rear speaker by the rear window. I get full signal this way. I haven't neatened up the wire yet but it was pretty simple to set up.

I guess the ONE thing I'm not liking about the D3 is that I have a LOT of music on my iPod and scrolling through the artists is kind of slow. I wish they had designed a keypad where you can type the first letter of an artist's name and it would scroll down to that letter for you. Simple design idea that wasn't implemented =/ but oh well, that's what playlists are for. The navigation is alright but in my area it sometimes will tell me to go around the entire block to get onto the main road near me when I can really just drive down my block and turn right. But for highway use it's really effective.

The sound quality is definitely a bit better than the stock radio. With factory settings the bass was a little too much so I easily made a custom EQ and now it's sounding really good.

This forum doesn't have an edit feature? I forgot to mention that the steering wheel controls do lag a little bit, as if the buttons are "sticky," but overall they work fine. Instead of quickly tapping up the volume button 5 times, you either need to hold it in or tap it slowly 5 times, holding it for a split second more than usual to make the volume go up one level. Kind of sucks, but it's all just about getting used to it. I love the iPod integration!

Does anyone know what the HPF setting on the D3 is for? I know HPF means High-Pass Filter, but I'm not sure why the D3 would have a setting for it. The options are just on and off.

Again, so no one needs to scroll up and read my older post:
I have the stock speakers, stock, sub, and stock amp all running, plus I have a 580 watt amp with 2 12" subs, 1100 watt total. I'm PRETTY sure I had to get a high-pass filter when I got my amp/subs set up, so does this mean I should turn the HPF setting on in the D3? Pffft I think I just answered my own question. Common sense: do you have a high-pass filter? If yes, turn on the HPF setting  can't believe it! The two go together! LOL... any input would be great. When I turn my volume up past 15 the sound gets distorted. I'm trying this mysterious HPF setting later tonight and will post back if it takes care of my problem!

you don't sand the scosche kit to get it to fit. It fits perfectly fine. You just have to center the a/c control and screw it in. Otherwise, it will be offsetted by 1/8" of an inch or 1/32" which will make the buttons get stuck.

I did correctly mount the a/c controls. There's really no logic to it. It goes on only one possible way. I tightened the screws and the buttons would get stuck when I pushed them in. If I loosened the screws it was fine but then the unit looked loose and would wiggle. No big deal, I sanded it down very lightly and it's perfect.

Thank you so much for this write up. It was working for months now but it seems that I am having some major problems. The volume and the stations are changing on it's own. I think it has to do with the steering wheel module but I am not sure. What do you think it would be? It gets so crazy sometimes that it seems like my car is possessed and the volume changes all the way to the highest level and I can't bring it down and it also changes to different channels on sirius or whatever I'm listening to. It gets so messed up that I cant even turn it off fast enough sometimes and I cant use the steering wheel controls.

Do you think it is the steering wheel module messing up because of bad wiring? I did not solder any of the wires so I'm assuming it is a problem with wiring. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
