yeah, i tried that button - no such luck. i'll check the yellow wiring as well. so i guess it's either a bad solder job or a fuse? nothing looks wrong with the wiring? if it's a fuse, where would i look for it? i tried searching online earlier to find out fuse locations for the radio and didn't have much luck.

any other ideas?

thanks!

yeah the red and yellow are both equally important.. both are needed to turn on the radio... there should be a fuse on the back of the radio.. and the radio fuse should be under the dash.. look in the manual.. wiring doesnt look wrong from wat i see..

bummer that it's nothing obvious.

i've now checked both red and yellow and they're solid.

i'll look at the fuse option. i did see the one in the back of the radio and will look in the manual for the other location. i am now hoping it is just a fuse issue - if not then this is going to suck big time.

i wish i lived closer too.

i'll have to do the volt meter option in the morning. i did just check the fuses (and in turn become very familiar with my fuse box locations...man, the fuse for the radio is in a terrible place to get to!) and nothing is wrong with any of the ones that would be linked to audio.

arrrrrrgh!

thanks!

finally found the problem. there was a pin on the metra harness that must have been slightly off as when i had connected it the pin got bent. straightening out the pin fixed the problem.

i ended up having to take it into someone who discovered this - all the fuses were good but it still wasn't getting power.

now it works perfectly. whew!

thanks for your help, joon joon, and thanks to the op for such a great tutorial.

for the d3 it could cost up to 700-900 with everything... d3, wiringing, dash kit, ipod adaptor, pac unit.. if u want just a regular radio it'll be much less... looking at 200-500
