So I tried to install this unit (the new blue one) on my Avic Z1 today. I have a 5170 Ohm resistor in between the black and white wires. I am able to get the unit to program and receive input from my steering wheel but the HU does not respond to any input from the SWI. The SWI lights up when I hit the steering wheel and everything.
Does the jack that comes out of the other end plug into anything? Is it used at all? I don't have it hooked into anything as there isn't a plug in the back of the Z1 for me to plug it into and none of the DIY's mention it at all. Any help would be appreciated! |

Has anyone with PAC installed with a Pioneer Avic had any issues with the PAC itself changing the Sources on the receiver? Mine will automatically just change sources from CD, to FM, to AM all by itself when I am driving.

I just installed one last weekend with an AVIC X710BT and I'm having issues with the band switching by itself. For example, I'll be on XM1 and then after a few minutes it'll switch to XM2 on it own. I've soldered all connections and I'm using a 5.1k resistor. I've checked the ground connection and it seems solid. I'm really not looking forward to ripping the dash apart again to try to debug this.

Is this device even worth dealing with? I wanted to change my HU and maintain the use of my steering wheel controls but considering all the problems people are having it sounds less and less worthwhile. Opinions anyone?

Got the MODE button working. Put a new 5100 ohm + 820 ohm resistor since the mode button ohm resistance is actually rated at 6000 ohm and it started working. Delay time isn't any more noticeable than factory.
