a few questions

1: How much was the total for parts?

2: The 2D has a rear center mounted sub, does the factory stereo have wires specifically controlling the sub, or does the sub's amp feed off the line level coming out of the rear speakers. I have a 4Dr and am trying to decide whether or not to replace the HU or just add subs alone.

3: While I'm asking questions, do you know the speaker sizes for the doors and trunk? (I can look this one up I'm sure, but it's easier to tag it on here.

4: Looks to me like the car has all the wiring for the Nav system already there, is that true? I was considering getting an aftermarket Nav HU and sticking it in, if all the wireing is there, I won't have to do nearly as much work.

Great DIY. Now I'll be able to pull the dash off with some confidence.

Does anyone know how to hardwire the power for a Starmate satellite reciever (sirius). I just hate having the cigarette adaptor wires all over the place. Plus I need for the phone.

Thanks.

Depends on the stereo you buy, for instance, Pioneer offers HU's with an input for steering wheel controlls, however it requires an adapter that you must purchase separetly. The nice part is you can program the adapter so that the buttons on the wheel can serve any function you want, rather than just what they are currently.

Damn nice job man. Clean install with great pics. Was it really necessary to pull off the dash all around the guages? I'm guessing there were some tabs that wouldn't allow the center piece to come out without popping that one first? I might just have to do this. I have the Sony HU from my totalled Tib just sitting around doing nothing. Now I just need to figure out how to bolt my subs into the trunk.

The courtesy lights are little tiny things. Each one is about an inch across and about 1/2 inch tall. Theres no way you'd be able to see it as you see whatever it is in the pic. The pictures online make them seem so big, but its such a surprise when you get the box and they're little coin size things.

What did you use to pry the dash out? Did you just try to pull it with your hand?

Take off everything you need to take off and GENTLY pry the dash trim with your hands. Don't use things like pliers.

Do the tabs have to be pressed to be released or can you just, like you said, pry the dash off with your hands.

Pry them off very gently. Can't tell you how many times I've seen people break the tabs off by pulling too hard. Also, pull towards you and not any other way.

Am I right in assuming the parts: 77250-SNA-A01ZA (Center Panel Gray) and
77250-SNA-A01ZB (Center Panel Tan) are specifying the interior car color and not the actual dash color?

Would a tool such as this be recommended for this dash removal? http://www.cardomain.com/item/SOU87810

Yes, or if you have a spare flathead screwdriver your not using, you COULD just bend it and its the same thing

Most of the dash is pretty easy though, and you may find you don't need the tool...
