GREAT POST , but i would highly not recommend to ground the amp or any other accy. where you did. #1 a solid ground should be under 12" and to solid metal not metal welded to metal. Just throwing it out there if any one was curious. late

ok first off, again great diy. now for questions.
i have an 07 civic si sedan. for equipment, i have an alpine cda-9831, kicker amp to power two diamond audio 10" subs, stinger 1 farad capacitor, and an alpine 4 channel amp. i really want to use my 4 channel amp, but if i do, am i going to lose my tweeters or do they get powered through the door speakers? my old celica's tweeters ran off of the front main speakers, so you never had to worry about how to power them. thanks for the info |

As for the tweeters, yes, you would lose the tweeters. The factory amp has a crossover circuit and feeds the tweeters. If you replace the stock amp with your alpine 4 channel amp (and I WOULD!), you'll just need to get 2 little crossover's and you'll be able to wire the tweeters from the door speakers. The Front left and Front right wire feeds will first hit the crossover which then has connections for the door AND the tweeter. With all the other equipment you are replacing I'm not sure why you're not replacing the speakers as well. Component speakers (separate woofer and tweeter) usually come with there own prewired crossover to use. Google the 'Infinity Kappa 50.9cs' speakers for an example of what I'm describing. Good luck! |

sorry cant edit my previous post. i do plan on replacing the speakers, i have some diamond audio 6.5's that i am going to put in there, but i was more concerned about how to do the rest the equipment, mainly the amp. thanks for the info. i have a set of kicker tweeters somewhere and they came with the crossovers, so i am all set there, should i replace the tweeters with my kicker tweeters? would it be worth it, if so, then how hard would it be to even do. thanks again.

Ok, just want some clarification before I start with my install.
I need the factory dash kit. Going to order from Honda. Honda Part List Center Panel Gray (Part # 77250-SNA-A01ZA)/Center Panel Tan (Part # 77250-SNA-A01ZB) Passenger Side Radio Bracket (Part # 77255-SNA-A00) Driver Side Radio Bracket (Part #77256-SNA-A00) DIN Pocket (Part # 08B60-SCV-100) I have a Alpine CDA9887 HU so I need... Scoche Radio Harness (HA10B) Honda Antenna Adapter Motorola Male to OEM Female (Item # 12040HD10) Lastly, I have upgraded all of my speakers with component sets. I have ran 12 gauge wire to all locations and back to an aftermarket amp. Do I need the amp bypass? I think no, but just want to double check. Am I missing any other parts? |
