I just installed a new Pioneer CD and Amp to my Australian RHD New Honda Civic 2008, unfortunatelt down here it's almost impossible to buy or obtain the dash facia kit for right hand drive cars, so I mounted the CD underneath the steering wheel on the little black panel obove the brake and accelerator pedal..Works OK with the CD remote control...My next problem is how to get the aerial lead to fit into my new Pioneer CD/radio head unit....typical Honda makes every thing so damn hard to get at.....the factory fitted plug I can't get at to remove so was wondering is there some way I can splice into the rear window fitted aerial...tapping into the wire somehow ....

Hey i wanna run my speaker wires to a amp, door and rear deck, would i still use the amp bypass to connect to the aftermarket headunit? or should i just run the speaker wires from speakers to amp, then rca from amp to HU? or does the amp bypass allow u to use the factory speaker harness to connect my speakers?

I have installed a Pioneer Radio/CD Player to my 2008 Civic I used a Scoshe Aerial Adapter could someone tell me what the blue wire on this adapter is used for.... The system sounds heaps better than Honda System but I'm having trouble picking up Am broadcasts , FM is Ok

In coupes it's under the shifter panel. In the sedan (at least for Si) its under the driver's seat

I'm not too familiar with those products but for mine there are 2 wires for the antenna one is the motorola connector (like a coax-cable type) and the other is a plain old wire and this is the antenna amplifier wire. I used a factory to motorola antenna adapter and there were corresponding connections on my Kenwood head unit.

If you are going to run new wires then just run the wires from amp to speakers and rca cables from amp to outputs on your head unit. I would at least disconnect the factory amp though.

Hey i was wondering how or did you disconnect the brake wire from your dvd deck so that it allows you to watch videos while driving?
Also, with the steering wheel control, how did you fix that and did your factory subs worked afterwards?
I didn't disconnect the brake wire for the dvd. What i did was ran the deck's parking brake wire to a 3 terminal switch, ground to ground, hot to hot, then parking brake wire to remote. So instead of doing the BS with the parking brake you can flip the switch and you are able to watch dvd's while in motion... don't watch the screen in motion obviously but it's nice for passengers.

I still haven't hooked up the steering wheel controls yet. i might do it over the summer. The factory sub is just disconnected for now.

Hey, thanks for radio install photos it was a great help... I just completed mine but I'm a bit confused with the Scoshe Antenna Adapter. it has a blue wire attatched and I don't know where this goes... I connected the antenna adapter to Civics antenna plug and then to my Pioneer but FM stations are clear but AM reception is very poor.. Maybe you might have some idea ,,, Cheers
It's been a while since i put the radio in, i do remember something about the AM signal, i forget exactly what i did. I'd have to look. if i do the steering wheel controls, i'll post back and tell you what i did for the AM signal.

Why do you have to disconnect the amp if you are using a bypass wiring harness??
