XM® Satellite Radio is standard on navigation-equipped Si and EX Coupe models. You must have installed that equipment on non-si sedans. |

XM® Satellite Radio is standard on navigation-equipped Si and EX "Coupe models."
Civic Si, Hybrid and EX models with the standard audio system are XM-Ready, as well as the "sedan models" with the navigation system. One guy is talking about coupe models and another is talking about sedans... who knows... maybe the sedan navi version will work in a coupe. Last edited by wixxer; 03-03-2007 at 11:30 PM. |

Hello, I installed an OEM Navi in my Non-Navi 2006 2 door Ex Coupe. I had to by-pass my amp since the Navi Unit I bought was like the one you bought. If you notice in some pics of the navi unit; one says, "Premium Audio System" and the other does not (that's the one you and I have). One unit is internally amplified. I am probably the second one I know of that sucessfully installed an OEM navi unit in a non navi coupe. If there are non-believers out there that I did it, I am in NJ and can show anyone it can be done. I know type x was the first and I did email him and he did give me some advise on what to consider during the install. I also got some advice from his partner Mike B. I did have to do my homework though. It's not plug and play. I did have problems with a couple of harnesses, but I was able to source the right ones. The only thing I did not install was the XM antenna on the roof. I didn't want to drill a hole in my roof. I know I was asked before. I do not have a write up at all.
I did my install for under 1000.00 including the receiver which I got at a great price on because the person I bought it from gave up. I was able to get advice and parts cheap because I know someone that worked at Honda and he was able to give me a discount on parts. Good Luck on your install. P.s You do need the xm receiver to boot the unit. |

I have over looked the Navigation System Electrical Schematic for the USA 4-door: EX on Honda's "In Network" and I do NOT see anything that has to do with XM for the system to function. Last edited by ProspeedCTR; 03-04-2007 at 12:52 AM. |

I'm pretty sure it requires something else for the XM
†XM® Satellite Radio requires XM subscription, available at xmradio.com. Trial subscription provided free for first three months. All fees and programming subject to change. XMReady® audio system requires additional hardware, installation and XM subscription, all available at extra costs. See your dealer for details. It is similar as buying an aftermarket head unit. SOme of those are iPod ready, but then you will need to buy some iPod adapter or something in order to use the iPod. |
